[Jo didn't have any guests, and thankfully all of her presents for the boys in Bobby's house fit in one box. Barely. She gave the cabbie a decent tip for being out on Christmas and stomped across the junkyard and up to the door.

She knocked on the door and tried the handle, deciding to just head in.]

Guys?

Jo!

[Dean tosses down a cloth and heads to her, instantly taking the box and setting it down on the nearest table, before turning back to her.] Merry Christmas, doll face. [He offers a hug.]

Doll face? [He will pay for that later, even though she's taking the offered hug.]

Am I late?

Kick my ass when it's not Christmas.

[He kisses the top of her head when she hugs him.] Nah, me and Sammy did our gift giving earlier.

[At any given time, Dean can be found either in the kitchen or in the living room, or flitting back and forth between the two. He hasn't sat down for more than half an hour, and more than anything it's because he wants to make this a good day for all of them, a day when they're not fighting anything, least of all each other.]

Is there space in the oven to reheat this green bean casserole so I can eat it later?

[She's going to eat it, damn it. It's a tradition.]

Sure is. I'd be careful, if I were you. Sammy might have your hand off for stuff like that.

[He gives her a quick grin and hands her a drink, sipping one of his own.]

If Sam's gonna fight me for the casserole I'm keepin' his present.

[And she will enjoy it too, just like she's enjoying this drink.]

Sam had left his presents under the tree before he had gone to bed. He had purchased them all thankfully between hallucinations, but once Dean had put him on lockdown in the house, he hadn't been able to get wrapping paper. So things were just wrapped with whatever Sam had found around the house - mostly old newspaper.

And honestly, Sam sucked at gifts. But for Jo, he had found a nice shirt and a matching faded out pink camo hat. Because Sam knew Jo would shoot him if the hat was bright pink.

For Cas, the angel had always been trying to understand humans, so Sam had found him a book on the subject to take in.

Gabe was getting a gag gift, a set of mustaches for when the moment required one now that the archangel was being all dignified in his life.

And Dean. Sam really wasn't sure what to get his brother, so in the end he went the safe route and got him a stocking full of assorted candies and a bottle of whiskey, a miniture punching bag, and some leather cleaning wipes for the Impala ( ... )

Once he'd gotten everything together, Dean headed upstairs to go and wake up his little brother. Some days, he didn't see an adult when he looked at Sam, and even when he tried to remind himself they were equals, Sam would always be his baby brother, and he'd always think he looked like a little kid when he slept.

Resting his hand on Sam's shoulder carefully, he leaned over him. "Sammy. Up and at 'em, kiddo, it's Christmas."

"Just five more minutes," he groaned, rolling over in his sleep. His blanket was half off him, and it was a miracle that he was actually still fully on the bed with his size.

"Oh, no, you're not sleeping anymore." He gave Sam a half nudge to get him further onto the bed, then sat on the edge, bouncing on it. "Get up. Get up, get up." He wasn't excited to see gifts for himself, more to see Sam's reaction to his main gift, the bundle of fur downstairs.

[Gabriel's pretty pleased with the moustaches Sam gave him, he's been wearing the scoundrel one since he opened them, lazing back the sofa, wearing a Christmas jumper of his own choosing. He's brought over some sweets, and booze although he doubts the Winchesters are lacking in that area.

Still, it's pretty good to be hanging out with people, even if a couple of them are watching him like an unexploded bomb. Well, whatever. There's no tricks planned for today. Well, he's not planned anything. He's just happy to go with the flow if anything does crop up though.

Which is sort of a pity, because sharks swimming around in egg nog would be pretty hilarious...]

[Dean's found five minutes to sit the fuck down finally, and slumps down into the couch beside Gabriel, stretching his legs out in front of him.

He turns his head to look at Gabriel and just chuckles at the moustache.] Havin' a good time, Gabe? [He crossed his arms over his chest, watching everyone else, smiling a bit at the puppy following Sam around the house, and everyone else enjoying their day.]

You got anything planned later, with Lizzie?

You escaped the kitchen, huh? I was wondering if the sink had eaten you. [Gabe grins, a glass of whisky appearing in hand and he passes it over] Merry Christmas, mutton head.

Me? I'm having a great time! [And he is. How often do you think he gets to go to intimate little gathers like this. After all, pagans didn't exactly celebrate like humans did. And this... was actually a lot of fun. Seeing other people happy. And the puppy. Puppies certainly improved matters.

He nods, settling back into the sofa cushions and stretching out his legs] Oh, there's a few presents left to be opened. I'm trying to convince her we don't need to go to ever church service going. Or drop in on everyone. [He shrugs, but is still grinning. Clearly it's not enough to ruin his good mood]

I beat it off with a wrench. [He took the glass of whiskey and sipped it.] You too, jackass.

[He smiles a little, nodding a bit. He's glad. As many problems as they've all had, he really doesn't care about that anymore. They've got bigger things to be concerned over than old grudges and the whole point of this holiday was to let bygones be bygones.] Good, that's great.

Yeah, good luck with that. She's a woman on a mission today. The English and Christmas; who knew? [Although his time around genuine Brits was limited to Bela and Elizabeth. It was safe to say he liked the queen better.]

Castiel had basically invited everyone, and their grandmother to Christmas dinner. While it had been mildly alarming to see the look on Dean's face when he told him who had been invited ... well. The angel promised that he would help 'man the kitchen', and he did. Baking was the easy part. The mashed potatoes were a little more interesting ... which was why his trenchcoat was hanging up to dry and he was indeed, wearing Gabriel's gift of an ugly Christmas jumper over his white shirt and tie.

He caught sight of himself in the mirror, and thought of Jimmy briefly, his expression going quiet and sad.

But then there was bread to take out of the oven, and Dean to calm down, and a puppy to gravely tell to not pee on the carpet, and Sam to thank and well ...

The angel moved around like a ridiculously dressed British butler, clearing plates and making sure that everyone's cups stayed full. After all, it was the season of giving, and receiving.

[Jo was almost reluctant to drag him away from his self-assigned duty, but she had a present to hand over, and an answer to give.]

...You got a few minutes for me?

[He paused, a little flummoxed, as Jo approached him, his hands filled with dirty plates. He looked at his hands, and the plates vanished to the sink.]

... I do.

[He wasn't sure exactly what was considered attractive to women, just yet, but he had a feeling he would regret wearing this Christmas jumper that Gabriel sent him.]

[Oh, angel, don't give her that deer caught in headlights look. She smiles more, trying to tell him he can relax without pointing it out.]

That's a neat trick. [She's always going to be a little jealous of that. Think of all the saved steps. The sweater makes her smile, and she won't tease him for it yet.]

I left your present by the door, and...we'll have a little privacy there? [Dean's been in and out of the kitchen all day, and she does want Castiel to get his gift soon. She turns and heads for the front door without another word.]
