in class the topic of the week has been "home"... that is: rodina, motherland. its pretty intense to discuss, as naturally lots of other issues arise: patriotism, nationalism, what defines "motherland", language, ethnicity, racism... we are specifically discussing russia, but i can't help but think of my own homeland, vermont... one thing

I know how you feel. I think. It's the physical part of an emotional connection to a place.
Sometimes I wonder why the hell I felt the need to move to the other side of the damn country.

i'm right behind you sister: that is, moving to oregon come sept, hence, the complex homeland craziness feelings. but then again, it means we'll be on the same coast, which is definately cool.
