I have recently begun to read the Temeraire series, by Naomi Novik, which takes place during the Napoleonic era, and involves dragons! The mix may sound strange, but, I assure you, those are excellent novels. And as the influence of Patrick O'Brian on Novik's writing is obvious, reading the novels gave birth to the following drabbles.

Brilliant! Ever since reading the books myself, I'd been hopeful that someone would do this--I wanted to, and couldn't. These have just the very tone. Thank you so much for posting them here! :D

I ordered the books at Amazon.com ( so I could have the omnibus verison, with Lockwood's cover, yay!) and I can't wait for them :D Though I'm in book 16th of the A/M series, , and I shall finish them before starting any other book.
Nice drabbles, they've made me curious about the books already ^^

Cover art by Lockwood?!? Didn't know that! That so cool because his dragons are teh pretty *goes off to check on Lockwood's web site* Yes, it's gorgeous, as expected! Though it doesn't quite match Temeraire's description (shan't say more, lest I spoil the plot for you). Ah well, I rather like the cover I have anyway.

This is so wonderful and it had been so nessary Novik's books were beging for a crossover with O'Brian's Aubrey-Maturin world. :D
Please let there be more drabbles or even a story? I am sure Stephen and Téméraire would get along famously.

Ahhh, I don't know how I managed to miss this the first time! Delightful :) You do know that Ms. Novik is a fan of O'Brian I hope?
