No major expenses (no new cars, living in an affordable apartment, etc.); keeping debt low by paying off credit cards and only using them sparingly; living within means; getting the hubby through law school; preparing to become a best-selling author and make enough from royalties to sock away in the bank and live off the interest :P

You know the stats on how many marriages wind up divorces right after one spouse puts the other through graduate school...

I don't know the stats off the top of my head, no. I do know that in general grad school -- law school in particular -- can be difficult if not disastrous on marriages. Fortunately my husband and I have a very strong marriage.
