I'm currently taking a class called directed research, which is turning out to be more about musical philosophies than research.
( insert philosophical paragraph I'm writing really just to get out. )

i think it makes sense...when you experience certain music or art you just get it. i think some people "get it" with religion in much the same way, but they are rare...Jesus got it, Buddha got it, Mohammad got it. most of their followers? no...did not get it. i think experiencing art in the way youre describing is as close as it comes it one-ness and in many more ways is more spiritual because to follow rules and regard them as absoulte truth is not spiritual, its dogmatic and empty. to experience art and music without strings attached is pure.
