Couldn't agree with you more. In McGinnest's case, he left for the Browns and Romeo, okay fine, I can live with that. Management can argue that he was getting older and was going to lose ability (don't know how they say that with a straight face after his awesome postseason, but whatever) but in Vinatieri's case, how can they let the greatest kicker in the clutch of ALL TIME and one of the most beloved Patriots of all time just go without even offering him a deal? How is that possible? I'm just glad that I'm not in New England right now because I'm pretty sure people are going to be in a foul mood all week about this. I would blame him for signing with the Colts, of all teams, the FREAKING Colts but I think this one is square on management shoulders. This is just a damn shame.

Vinitieri is my favorite player of all time, so I find this depressing, also. As to why, well, I'm wondering if maybe his back problems are cropping up again. Just a thought.
