I have been... even more sucked into Bandom. I actually thought about you today -- I just finished reading stele3's Second Circle and saw your comment on the fic and thought yes, that's how I'd describe it, I'm just gonna quote that when reccing it to my friends :-)
Oh, I definitely will! I really just need to sit down and go through my photos. But I've been rather lazy since I got back and was more concerned with catching up the rest of the world, since I've been back.
And yes, Monaco exists. It's about the size of a dime but it exists! And the shops are all ludicrously expensive, lol.
Ugh, that fic. I adore it to pieces. I just went back and reread my comment to have a better idea of what you were talking about and yes, it's how I described the fic to my friends as well. It was a huge deal for me that she took the time and care to make the reader understand the kink so well because up until that point D/s was a huge squick for me and something I never thought I'd understand. And it's still a squick for me in many cases because it's something I think many of the authors who try to write it don't understand well enough either (or at the very least they don't imbue their writing with that understanding).
