Hey everyone! I decided to post the challenge a bit early so that you would have more time to whip out your icons :) Sign-ups are still open so continue to pimp this contest out!

You are dozing off while reading a boring book when suddenly you see a little white rabbit wearing a jacket and holding a pocketwatch run past you, saying "I'm late! I'm late!" Curious, you chase after the little fellow and to your great surprise, fall down a rabbit hole! You fall and fall and fall and when you finally land, you look around and see that there are others with you. This is a strange place called Wonderland Mangaland and you must begin your journey...

Yes, this entire round will be based on Alice in Wonderland. Why, you ask? I don't know this was the best I could do >:P Anyway, the first theme is to make an icon with the image I have provided. But to make it more challenging, you must pick one of the two guidelines and follow ALL the requirements:
Alice's rules:
· The image/subject of your icon must be upside down
· The icon must show the color blue in some way.
White Rabbit's rules:
· You must duplicate the image/subject at least once (so there must be two copies of your image in the icon).
· The icon must show the color yellow in some way.
You can choose to follow all of the rules for additional points! If you choose to follow Alice's rules, you must adhere to all the guidelines and then you may opt to follow the White Rabbit's. Each additional guideline is 1 point so you can earn up to 2 extra points.
bonus challenge:
"going down the rabbit hole"
In this OPTIONAL bonus challenge, you must interpret the theme of "going down the rabbit hole." You can interpret it any way you like, such as a character actually falling through a magical portal to a magical world. Or you can depict a character experiencing a new world, environment, or situation for the first time.
The bonus challenge icon must be different from the main challenge icon. As long as you interpret the theme of "going down the rabbit hole," you can use textures, brushes, fonts, etc. Any effect (except animation) can be used for this challenge. Even though this challenge is completely optional, I encourage you to submit anyway because just submittng alone will give you 2 extra points plus the points from the voting! Alright, good luck and I am looking forward to seeing everyone's icons!

Sign-ups are still OPEN and will remain open until Friday, Sept. 24th. when the icons are due. Here is the full list of participants.
rules
· You must be SIGNED-UP in order to participate in this round.
· You can submit up to TWO icons for this challenge: ONE required for the main challenge and ONE optional for the bonus challenge.
· Icons must focus only on MANGA, manga artbooks and other official works. NO anime/videogames/fanart/doujins.
· Icons must be brand new and created for this challenge by YOU.
· Icons must fit the LJ requirements (100x100px, .jpg/.gif/.png, 40kb or less, etc.)
· DO NOT POST YOUR ICONS ANYWHERE until the battle is over or you are eliminated.
· DO NOT REVEAL YOUR IDENTITY until the battle is over or you are eliminated.

All participants start off with 0 points. With each challenge, you can accumulate points based on your icon's performance and you cannot lose points unless you break the rules. Participants who vote will get 2 bonus points. People's Choice winners will be awarded 3 points and Mod's Choice will be awarded with my love ♥
Using additional guidelines for the main challenge can give you 2 extra points and entering the bonus challenge will automatically give you 2 more points! You can get up to 4 bonus points this challenge
Here is the list of skips/ranking. Because this is the first challenge, there will be no skips or eliminations. If you MUST skip because of personal reasons please let me know :) If you do not let me know in advance and do not submit, I will have to eliminate you :(
