i am a bit sick of blogging now....
day 10, woke up early to check out of my hostel and try to decide what i wanted to do in osaka.... so first i went to a net cafe.... i was sleepy and it was cold...net cafes are comfy and heated. i finally decided on the aquarium. i can't remember the last time i went to an aquarium and on the website they mentioned river otters....that was a pretty quick decision....otters are love.
and it's massive. 7 or 8 stories i forget >,<
so off i went. only got a liiiittle lost and found my way quickly. first i went to the ferris wheel next to the aquqrium.... even though going alone is a little sad i wanted to see osaka. it was the biggest ferris wheel i've ever ridden. XD i love ferris wheels. it was really nice up there.
after the ferris wheel into the aquarium i went. i saw sooooo many animals. i spent the most time at the river otter exhibits. they has the regular exhibit and the baby river otter exhibit...sooooo cute. XD
i saw : river otters, sea otters *i didn't know sea otters were so big!*, seals, dolphins, squids, octopi, whale sharks, regular sharks *shudders*, nautili, jellies, turtles, caiman, soooo many fish ....my one sadness is they had no touch tank.... but i guess it makes sense with the whole japanese mentality....i just wanted to touch icky squishy things.....
the baby otter area was sooo fabulous. they were in this clear box thing and there was a clear tube going to a tank of water. think gerbil or hamster cage with those tunnels....except with otters.... it was really cute ^-^
at the gift shop i found penguin pirate hats! had to get one for lainey hahah. also they had a great section of moonstone jewelry....so i splurged and bought myself a bracelet and necklace of moonstone ^-^
after that i decided to eat some food, sushi! yay it seemed fitting. then i went off to himeji. it was getting kind of late...and it was cold...and my map hated me...and i got lost...so i flagged down a taxi and asked them to take me to my hotel.... gave them the map and yay they found it ^-^ it only cost 560 yen so i was happy.
this was the only real hotel i stayed at. himeji doesn't have hostels or net cafes really... but this hotel was nice...they had a public bath house....so off i went in the hotel provided yukata. so that was nice and made my legs feel much better.
then i went to bed, which was awesome being in a real bed. not even a futon...a real bed...with a mattress. i like futon alot but there's something extremely pleasant about mattresses after you've been walking for 10 days. i watched the karate kid and an old 1985 movie i found out is called cocoon. they were subtitled in japanese and voiced in english so that was nice. ^-^ then sleep was had.
