Thank you for reminding me (again, since collarnojutsu had just reminded me, which clearly didn't stop me from forgetting) about YC registration. I now have my packet ready to send in tomorrow.
I am melancholy right now because I just found out that my brother is going to Japan, and I would love to be able to go with him, but how can I possibly afford it when I'm still paying for my last trip? And it's in August, too, probably just in time for Comiket. *sulk*
Your brother visited Japan when you were living there, right? Does he know any Japanese? (Is this some kind of family language gift I need to be jealous of?)
For the record, I made a high-pitched squeal of joy when you confirmed you were registering for the convention. Because I am just that mature.
No and no. (And no.) This will be his first time to Japan (he's going to tour the studios that animate Transformers). He was trying to talk me into coming along to be his tour guide, but I can't see how it could work out.
The only thing left for me to do is get my plane ticket, which I wasn't worried about since I have a voucher from Northwest, but after hearing about how my mom spent almost all day yesterday trying to get tickets from Delta, I think I'd better get that taken care of. :/
(Secretly, I squeed when I heard you were actually registering. We can overcome The Youth!)

It sounds as if you've already made up your mind that going to Japan w/your brother is impossible. Nevertheless...GO! For his sake. For your sake. FOR THE MANGA! I hadn't realized he had never visited you, and don't _you_ want to visit the studio where they animate Transformers? WHen are you going? Where is he staying? Can I come (not to the studio, but to the manga-shopping)?
I wish I had even a clue where I'll be working so I would have a better idea of whether it would be feasible for me to attend the convention. I've applied to places from Delaware to Hawaii, but still no word. I'll try to go if I can.
...Now I don't know whether to spend my energy hoping you get a job in Hawaii or can come to the con. As much as I wish you knew now whether or not you could come, it's better to get settled in a career...in Hawaii. Yes, it's best to focus on Hawaii. Or the chillier bits of California.
Since G-Defend is the only thing I collect from Tosuisha now, I had long since stopped checking their website for monthly releases. If it hadn't been for spacealien_vamp's post, I would have missed it, too.
