What an amazing evening I had. My honey and I went to a Japanese restaurant here in Hamburg for a, hm, I guess you might call it “event dinner”. It was great. Oh yeah, and I got a new tattoo ^_______________^

The restaurant is called “Matsumi” (which I was able to read in Hiragana, yay) and I got the impression that it might be one of the ‘better’ Japanese restaurants in Hamburg. I don’t know if you have ever heard of Roger Federer, the tennis player. Well, apparently he likes to eat there. And so does the Japanese consul general Oo’... okay ^^

Anyway, here’s the link: http://www.matsumi.de , you should have a look ^^

So, the restaurant’s chef is from Japan, and his German wife was the one who moderated the dinner. It took place in the tatami room (I guess you all know what a tatami is, again I recommend the website) so we had to take off our shoes before entering X). The room was pretty small and very nice, seemed very authentic to me (as far as I can tell). And the food was awesome, we (a group of 12 very nice people, we sat next to two sweet old ladies =D) were served no less than 12 different courses, tons of fish and soup and it was great. I even tried octopus because I had to think of the FVT vid where the Dirus eat octopus in the parking lot. Well, tried it, won’t eat it again, not even if Kaoru himself served it Oo’ ... well, maybe a little bit ^^

What made that dinner special was that the chef’s wife told us so many interesting things about the food, the origin of certain habits and explained Japanese table manners and it was unbelievable, so interesting. She was a very nice person, it was never actually disturbing when she explained something, it was more like having dinner with a friend who just returned from a journey to Japan and talked about the trip. I’m too stuffed right now to try and write everything down but I was like “Gosh, that’s amazing...” all the time. Haha, yeah, I know, I’m like that very often XDDD

She told us about the Shuhin (hope I got that right), which is the person of highest rank at the table and his “duties” during the dinner. Funny thing is: when Takahara (you probably never heard of him, he played soccer for our local soccer team) came there to eat, the Shuhin was his mother XDDDD.

And we had Sake which I really liked, a lot ^^. Omg, believe it or not, we had a glass (a small glass) of Koshinobanbai Tokusan, an entire bottle costs over 100 Euro!!! Although I prefered Kikusui, that tasted even better and it’s cheaper (“only” about 60 Euro a bottle). Hm, you really can’t compare it to the cheap stuff, this Sake tasted awesome ^^

So, I’m slightly drunk while writing this, blame it on the Sake and the Japanese beer *moronic grin*. But what amused me to no end was the thought I couldn’t keep off my mind: how amazing it would be to be here, having dinner with the Diru guys XD. The tatami room is for groups from 10-14 people, so that would be the guys, maybe Inoue and then me and my lj girls *that includes you*. I could so see it, each of them with their heads over a bowl of soup XD (which just makes me wonder if Kao ties his long hair back when eating soup *ggg*)

So, it was great, just wanted to share that with you ^^

Oh, and I got a new tattoo on my left calf last week. The guy did a great job. Here's a picture of it when it was still "fresh" (all red)

and this pic is from today

I really love it, I'll certainly go there for my next tattoo as well... and that's got nothing to do with the fact that the guy's a hunk XDDD. unfortunately you don't see it in the pics my friend made (she came along because of him, hahaha ^^) but he's got beautiful blue eyes and a smile that knocks you off your feet. he was very charming and very funny. and he spends half the year in Hamburg/Germany and the other half on Hawaii, working for a local tattoo studio there Oo'. interested, anyone? XDDD

that's it. have a lovely day ^^
