The best life skill I ever learned (in GSC, of all places) was this: Fake it 'til you fucking make it. It sounds so cliche and dumb, but it's true. If you teach yourself to just beat a bad mood into the ground and smile in spite of it, you will have learned the secret to being one of those mythical "grown-ups." It helps in school, in work, and when battling depression and anxiety. Compartmentalize that feeling that you're lagging behind. Push it away. Detachment is sometimes a good thing, when it comes to emotions. Every negative though about yourself and your life does not need to be entertained. Those thoughts don't deserve it. And you'll feel like a liar at first, and you might not be able to combat all the negativity in your head, but you'll get to a point where you can just force yourself to stop thinking certain things or at least distract yourself and fill your head with
