Where exactly do you live? Because I think I know but I'm not sure.
Also: how do you make it through the winter when I freeze when it's 1C?

Newfoundland, which is as far east as you can go in North America.

you get used to the cold here. the winters are usually pretty cold and last year we had -30 few a few days.
