He's a self-absorbed dickhead. Always has been, but he's so just so unrepentant and resentful that Dean is actually still alive. It's gross. So is his greasy hair.
I think Soulless Sam had more affection and empathy for Dean and he didn't have any feelings.
EXACTLY! I mean how dare Dean come back from the dead again! Doesn't he know Sam just wants him gone so he can play house with a bitchy bad vet? Dean can be so selfish at times sheesh!
but seriously, I just can't take Sam anymore, he's been a selfish ass since day one, and it's only gotten worse over the years, I thought he couldn't get any worse than he was in s4....boy was I wrong. The boy needs a beat down!
The bizarre thing about this show is that over and over again, they have Sam betray Dean, rarely have Sam apologize, change his behaviour or learn any lessons.
Then they give Dean the hideous suck it up speeches. Sam never changes and it's Dean who has to learn the lessons about forgiveness. It seems to me that the only lesson he needs to learn is that Sam cannot be trusted.
I saw your post but didn't want to upset your flist with my ranting. :)
Do you really think the show will allow Sam to finally see the error of his ways? I hope so, but I've watched this show too long to actually believe that will happen.
And especially not when Sam's reaction to Dean's raw hurt is to turn around and threaten to leave him again and threaten to kill someone who was actually there for Dean, unlike Sam. And to bring in yet another mouth-piece character to tell him to suck up his feelings.

Nope, not gonna happen, Carver is not the change we need to allow someone to finally call Sam on his shit and force him to mature and appreciate Dean. I don't think anyone can or will even attempt the job. So Sam is a lost cause. Has been for a long time, but he's even more lost than ever before.
I truly want these two characters split up. What they have is odious.

Sadly he's in too many scenes with Dean and now, apparently Cas, for me to FF through his entitled bullshit.
