The way to link to a person's username is by typing "lj user="mangomonkeyboy" - but instead of " (quotes) put < and > at either end.

Correction - put the < and > before lj user and AFTER the quotes surrounding the username. So: "lj user="mangomonkeyboy"" - and replace the quotes at each end with a < and >. But the username needs to be in quotes.

In order to hard-code to a link, you would go:
