Quick summary-

I love this con. The greatest people are here. Here at this con.
Even though parts of the hotel were a let down, its always the people that I'm here for.
I did a lot of things in terms of events that I partook in. Didn't get my own time to really hang out with friends, thats my own fault.

In Depth

-Got to the con Friday at around noon. Was sweating about my dating game to come that night a bit. But in the back of my head I knew this would work itself out cause I'm the kind of guy that goes with the flow. How could it not work itself out, the dating game is essentially an improv show, all I had to do was host and manage it.
In the mean time I wandered about the con hugging the acquaintances I only see so few throughout the year. It really seemed like the con was significantly smaller this year, but maybe it was just the hotel's stretched out layout of all the halls.

Right away, it was pretty apparent that this hotel was something different. And mostly not in a positive way. There are 3 small elevators in the lobby for the main tower. Only 11 floors. I thought that wouldn't be so bad right? SUCKKKKED. They took forever cause everyone believed it to be the only possible way of vertical transportation. I was pretty mad how often furs and just general hotel guests would utilize the elevator to travel one floor up. There were stairs real close to the elevators, they just weren't labeled very well. I believe even one of hotel staff wasn't sure about the stairs. The floors had rather low ceilings so it was really easy to climb to each floor with the stairs. I used them whenever I was out of suit, for all floors. (I was in room 717)
Hotel staff were very polite, so that was refreshing. I mean like out of the way polite. Not like, they weren't Rude polite. Like they expressed their friendliness.
The bathrooms, wuuut kind of door is that? Maybe they made them slide cause they didn't have enough room to swing open in the entrance? That doesn't explain why they couldn't add a lock. I loved Spain's observation, "They might as well put in a beaded curtain."
Perhaps they spent the money for the doors on their pool. That pool was gorgeous. Zell and I regretted not bringing our swim trunks along. We walked around it and marveled its architecture which matched nothing of the rest of the hotel. A New Orleans decor with bricks, and iron grating. Fountains, Foliage, and a 10 Foot Deep End?! Water temperature felt great too, plus a retractable roof? SERIOUSLY?! (We ignored the jacuzzi on the side cause we aren't one for Furry Stews)

Alright so Dance Auditions. Went down there in MonsteRoo was great to see all the dancers. Didn't quite have my song with me yet. Once I watched all their dances I decided to change my song at that moment. I might make a youtube video with songs I planned for Performances but never performed on stage. (David Guetta, Missy Elliot, Yeah Yeah Yeahs.. ) If all you who were at the auditions were wondering why I kept walking around and standing in different places it was cause I wanted to study the dance floor from all angles... and also Its really tricky to sit down in MonsteRoo with his huge tail. Performed an exclusive presentation of Major Lazer's-Pon De Floor for them for fun. (I wasn't required to audition cause of last year's 2nd placing) That explained why Mr. Ranan announced my song wrong on the night of the competition.

This got my mind off of the dating game for a bit. Until it came to be an hour before and I wasn't even sure where my 3 special guests were. Luckily slyphox had my back the whole time and found them. I was out getting gyros with zell across the street, we were pretty hungry when Sly called me with the news) I got over to the hotel quickly to confirm 2 and Kage's joining in on the event. Was a bit troublesome to deal with Kage's drunken rambling while I had to eagerly get up to my room and get ready and eat, food got a little cold.

The show went off amazingly. Very much to my surprise actually. A/V pulled out some great tricks to improve the show. The lucky contestant I happened to pick from the audience was also the best I could've hoped for. I'm so sorry dear I forgot your furry name. You said your name was Melanie though? Get back with me so I can thank you some more for being a great part of the performance. Thanks to Matthew Ebel, 2, and Kage as well for being my 3 mystery bachelors and entertaining the audience.

Soon after that I had to get back up to my room and switch my costume out for one I had been thought up a few weeks back. I wanted my DJ set to be as visually exceptional as its playlist. I took inspiration from Daft Punk putting on their trademark costumes into my own style. Thanks for coming to dance at my set if you did. The title was not supposed to be Mangusu's Dance Spectacular (that sounds so fruity) I wanted it to be Waltz in Wonderland or Royale Rave but I hadn't fixed the name in time. I'll try to upload the 30 minute mix somewhere if you're interested.. someone has to teach me how to distribute a big file like that online though.

After my set was Banshee's and I stayed around on the floor in my Conductor wardrobe to dance. I retreated back up to my room and cleaned off the make up which takes a while and I soon realized it was 1am. Anyone who was drinking was already too drunk to tell me where their parties were and I've learned from the past that playing the 'catch up real quick' game isn't good. Went to sleep after chilling in the room some.

Saturday.

The hotel's breakfast is good, but way too expensive.

Honestly can't remember what I did throughout most of the day. There was rehearsal for talent show. Visited the dealers room and got just a few real small things. Lunch at the PeachTree Center, avoiding Atlanta's Hobos. Didn't participate in the fursuit parade... after observing this year's footage of the parade I don't know if I want to go to anymore anyways. They're just sooo... dull. Its not a parade, its not even a march.
Fursuiters, you are performers.
Get into it!
And they're so quiet aside from the annoying sounds of bells, barkings and brief boomboxes.

Ummm.. fursuit dance 101 was fun. I enjoyed goofing off and getting some close person to person attention. Honestly I hope that some of my tips were good. I'm just not sure how to teach others how to dance when it just comes so naturally to me that I don't think about it. You Can't think about it. When I dance one gear just turns the next one, you can stop unless the music stops. Thanks a lot kwik for hosting it. I had a blast.

Then the Dance Competition. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
I did my thing. I went for it. I didn't remember what I even did when I got off the floor.
Then I won.
I ripped a big seam during the celebration on the floor. (not during the dance) That really sucked but I fixed it the next morning.

Once again, The Competition went on till 12:30am WHY SO LAAAATE? I don't drink before these.
Was pretty worn out, showered off suiting sweat, And just like the night before baaaah. I tried to head out an party but I just wasn't feeling it. Was invited up to Tiger Paw's presidential suite which was pretty sweet. But ya know, even though I did know a few people there I wasn't going to play the catch up game or I'd end up like the guy who was puking in the toilet for a few hours there.

SUNDAY

Delightful early morning Breakfast again with Zell. We went to the Metro Diner for it. The waiter was awkwardly foreign. Suited up MonsteRoo for a third time, got awesome pictures with the other two SodaRoos. Thanks DaveRab and Tyr for doing the photoshoot, can't wait for them to be posted. Classic Charlies Angels Pose.
Then waited with Zell in the headless lounge for hours for the Talent show to begin. I had to pie once the actual show got underway but I had to hold it. T___T Zell was pretty nervous but I knew he had it all down. You did great hun! You worked so hard with me and we got it done! I'm so excited to win the God Level for the both of us. (Now I don't have to sit at the heavenly dinner with lots of older people I don't know.)

Then the two of us cleaned up and walked up to the Hard Rock cafe for dinner together. I think I'll make this a tradition. Love their pins, way more than Universal's or Disney's.

I really tried to party that night. I got myself a good buzz, much of it thanks to raspberryroo . But I didn't get plastered. There just weren't room parties. Most of my friends weren't throwing their own room parties this time I guess. Maybe I'll play of game of kings up via video chatting... Ooooooooooo YEAH.

Thank you everyone who continues to make this a great con.
Sorry to anyone I didn't get to spend much time with. And there were a ton of people.
I'm going to try to not be involved in so many events next time. Not sure if even want to make the dating game again even though it turned out awesome.
