Co-dependant?

Can someone explain to me why co-dependancy is bad? I mean I know people say its not good and OK I get that but what makes it so bad?

because you are relying on someone else to set your self worth - opens doors for abusive relationships.

Puts you into the caretaker role - and you end up neglecting self.
