Saw it Thursday but I've been sleep deprived. Now I get to rant about it. XD Mostly Ragetti and Pintel cause I love them ever so much more than Jack Sparrow.
Ragetti and Pint were AWESOME! By the middle of the movie they were pretty much the only things I cared about. XD; So YAY! And I agree that they are canon now. o.o Closest thing Disney will ever get to admitting that.
God, opening scene with Ragetti and looking up through the boards. XD; Elizabeth just had to move. And Pintel got an eyeful of big ol' sweaty man-tits. Now Pintel has to know that's not what Ragetti's really into, considering the fact he freaked and HID behind Pintel when that giant sumo steam guy came out. No, Ragetti likes his men short, balding, a little plump and crotchety. So I'm sure that raised some questions between them. Awkward ones. XD;
And I dunno why, but I loved Pintel's line toward the end of the movie:
P: "Have you noticed - on top of EVERYTHING, it's RAINING! D:"
R: "Aye, that's a bad sign!"
Just the way he said it was so damn grumpy. XD; I wanted to give him an umbrella and a hug.
Cannonballs on dead people. God I love them. The guys in the front row broke up when they actually were gonna follow through with that.
And the underwater tied up to the mast thing? Konstance was so right. @.@; Ragetti has the cutest grin ever. All unsure like "Is this cool? Okay, Pint's smiling, I guess this rocks! Me nose is burning . . ."
And the eye! Squee! (I think I'm squeeing at random, but the following are MAJOR squees) Barbossa gave him the eye . . . holy shnee, but that is cute. Barbossa probably figured Rags was the best choice to guard it. Dunno when he decided this though. Probably during the curse when he knew Rags was sticking with them no matter what.
Barbossa saw how Rags would attach himself to things (people) and figured 'maybe this guy would make a better guard than me - no way he'd let just anyone near his blind-side. Also, if anyone outside the crew messes with him, they've got Pintel to deal with.' That, and who the heck would suspect the Captain of giving his Piece of Eight to these guys in the first place?
When Barbossa nodded at Rags, Pintel just got this happy look on his face like "See! My boy's gonna show everyone how important he is to the Cap'n!"
Barbossa must've felt pretty sweet. Here all the Lords have an entourage of supporters and all Barbossa needs are these two loyal scrawny dudes, one of which he trusts enough to carry his piece of eight. I actually heard a lot of "AWWW" though when Ragetti had to give Barbossa the eye. He seemed to want to keep it a while longer.
And dude, Barbossa putting it back in Rag's face earlier on the ship . . . would not have put that thing in my mouth dude. XD; But it was funny just for Ragetti's expression of 'AACK! Do not want!' during the whole thing.
Ragetti's whisper to Calypso was so . . . damn . . . sweet. And yes he looked at Pintel! YES YES YES YES! *flail* How else would he know how to speak to a lover? God I loved everything about that scene - from Pintel going "What? That's IT?!" at Barbossa, to Ragetti actually getting upset while insisting that Barbossa didn't say it right. He actually kinda blanked out and went somewhere else in his head while saying that, like something about it was bothering him. It was somehow very important to Rags that Calypso got to be freed.
Rags seemed drawn to Tia/Calypso, while Pint seemed intimidated. Whenever they had to talk to her, Pintel hung back and Ragetti would move forward, asking questions and just being closer physically. Don't think he had a crush on her or anything. He probably just picked up on something - like her sadness. He knew she was cursed to be away from the person she loved, and that's something he went through himself. Rags saw the hurt and vulnerable side, Pintel saw the wrathful scary GODDESS side.
Their roles were kind of switched between Tia and Elizabeth. While Rags and Pint were saying goodbye to 'Poppet', Ragetti did a respectful bow. Like he definitely still sees Elizabeth as scary PMSing Pirate King Lady. But Pint called her 'Poppet'. He knew she's still that girl they kidnapped deep down. And he was more prominent in the scene where she saw her father. Just looking at her with the others.
And the little things too. XD Moog looking at Will and Elizabeth kissing. Like "Awwww, we approve. Now let's shoot the monkey!" :D Their ADD is so fun.
On a side note - tentacle beard rape! AHAHAHAHA! XD!!! WTF? Best Disney villain death EVER!
