DAY 7 - A song that reminds you of a certain event
Every year me and Rachel go on a honeymoon/anniversary type thing. We either go to Spokane, or somewhere else - usually we try to go somewhere we've never been before. And whether we have maps or mapquest directions WE ALWAYS GET LOST. It's become a sort of tradition. Getting lost I mean. XD So this song came on one time while we were squabbling over how far along we'd fucked up and what we had to do next. And we just started cracking up and singing along. We always get to where we're going, but getting lost is kinda spooky and fun at the same time.

This song . . . holy crap. It really hits me every time I listen to it and I'll hit repeat more than once. I sing along to this frequently, especially if I'm in any kind of sad reminiscent mood. Though I know all the words, it's the music more than the lyrics that packs a punch. Lately it really reminds me of an RR I'm doing with kelly1_watxm *posts the lyrics here*

DAY 9 - A song that you can dance to
YAY Mika!!! This was the first song I ever heard by Mika that actually introduced me to the artist's existence. And it is still one of my very favorites by him. The music video is SO much FUN to watch, and man if I don't dance like an idiot to this when I've got it blasting. Usually I turn it up so I am inspired to clean the house or do something useful. Nope. I hear it and start dancing with the freaking broom. XD;
On a totally geeky level, it totally reminds me of onesided Todd/Wanda from X-Men:Evo. XD
DAY 10 - A song that makes you fall asleep
And with this song, that's no insult. This is the single most beautiful song I have heard in a long time, and I would so play it for my kids if I had any. I'm gonna have a niece to spoil in December. *squeeeee* If I put this on though while I'm tired (or too tired to sleep, which I hate) I will 9 times out of 10 zonk completely the fuck out. It's awesome.
Also, I totally wish I could sing like Singh Kaur, rest her soul.
DAY 11 - A song from your favorite band
Apparently my current fave band is The Hush Sound, because a friend played some music for me. And I was hooked. This song especially because it's just so damned catchy. Some of their songs you listen to once, go 'eh well, I didn't like that so much'. Then when you listen to the song again, you're like 'wow, this is actually awesome!' I've never listened to a song by them so far that I didn't end up liking/ dancing like a geek to.
This one in particular really strikes me. It’s just so breathtakingly beautiful. Made me cry the first time I heard it.
DAY 12 - A song from a band you hate
I don’t really like their music. It’s so . . . teenager-angsty. I don’t strictly hate them, but well . . . I guess it’s hard to explain. I guess the closest I can come to it is by saying that I feel like I’ve outgrown this band and genre of music. But this song is totally fine and it is the only song I have on my mp3 player by this band. I . . . guess that counts as hate? Though I don’t really /hate/ them. I don’t think there is a band I hate. If there is, my brain has protected itself from further harm by making me forget them. XD
DAY 13 - A song that is a guilty pleasure

Wow, okay. Big guilty pleasure here. I still watch cartoons. (SHUT UP. I ADMIT I AM 12 FOREVER.) XD; And one of my favorite movies growing up was ‘Cats Don’t Dance’. If you like cartoons or animation, I suggest you go and check this out. It’s cute and charming and in some parts (like this song) poignantly beautiful. In short, it’s a lot better than the crap animation they make for kids to watch now.
Natalie Cole’s voice is just stunning here, either way.
