Funny satirical article about Miracle Day

This really made me chuckle: http://www.thespoof.co.uk/news/spoof.cfm?headline=s4i98495

Especially following the reactions to the link I posted on jackxianto the day before yesterday XD

Small extract:

One angry Dr Who/Old Torchwood fan said "It was too glitzy, with too many bangs and not enough aliens."

I guess I'm not a traditional Who/TW fan because I like reaching arcs and long stories that tell a story instead of monster of the week and long lingering looks between a coffeeboy and his boss.

And for the record -- what's causing the Miracle? AN ALIEN.

100% agreed! I really liked the turn TW took in CoE, those kinds of stories are what I enjoy. I don't mind if it's more slow paced than the original TW. I even think that DW is incredibly fast paced and I would wish for it to slow down sometimes. But then again it's a children's show and children have a very short attention span :-D

Anyway, I really like Miracle Day so far, what about you actually? Didn't really catch whether you liked it or not. Love your icon, where is that from? =) The past couple of weeks I absolutely fell in love not only with Jack (who I liked before but not THAT much) and John Barrowman. So naturally I felt a bit upset by the badmouthing he received in the jackxianto community :-(

Honestly, I love the progression Torchwood has taken. It's always been stated that it's a dangerous job, people die all the time and no one is safe. I mean, I would be upset if Gwen died, but I would not go to the extreme that some fans have gone in the name of their favorite character. AND I LOVE MIRACLE DAY. I just do.

There's badmouthing going on for John? I don't know why. He's the nicest person on the planet. Absolutely sweetest guy you could ever meet, so accommodating to fans who treat him so, so, so badly.

And the icon is from OUT magazine! I haven't seen any scans yet, but someone emailed me that picture. :D

Exactly, that's what I was trying to tell the Ianto fangirls, that TW is about a small team with a dangerous job and everyone can die. Ianto even says so many times. But you can't reason with them, poor girls XD

I love Miracle Day, too! Can't wait for the next episode and I'm SO curious to see who that relationship was that made Jack who he is. It's exciting that we finally get to learn more about Jack =)

The Ianto fangirls were saying they are not impressed by JB and they looked down on him for saying TW is still TW in the core. I think he's right and I agree with you, he is SUCH a nice person. I saw him for the panel after the preview screening and he was sitting with his back to me (I was in the left front corner) and whenever he spoke he would make it a point to turn around to the people sitting behind him, that totally won me over (among many other things). I just love him, not in a sexual way (although he is hot!) but my heart goes out to his heart, his beautiful, kind heart <3

I'm definitely not a traditional Who/Torchwood fan, then. I mean, I love my monster of the week episodes, but I don't mind having to wait to figure out who the monster is.

I don't think there is such a thing as the traditional DW/TW fan. It's just the crazy fangirls who are making a lot of noise with their whining. I prefer to be open minded about things and welcome change and development within a show. It's just boring if they replay the same concept again and again and there is still a lot to discover in Torchwood =)
