Fear leads to anger

I have of late been in a really bad mood.  This has involved much depression, irritability, frustration, and copious eating and TV watching which has lead to some nasty weight gain.  Today I picked up a book dealing with depression and realized how many aspects that the book described were appropos.  The feeling of powerlessness, a disturbing ( Read more... )

Thanks for the airhugs, and today I had a small epiphany. I started laughing uncontrollably for about 10 minutes. Essentially I had been bottling a lot of emotions, burying them deep until they had manifested as anger, frustration and emotional numbness. I'd also been bingeing on TV, Internet and food which fuels the problem. It felt horrible and good to finally allow myself to feel everything, to let it all out.

Feeling much better. Now, I need to learn to stop doing that.

As a fellow depressive, I can tell you that recognizing when the depression has settled in is actually a victory in and of itself.
