Elijah knew that he should check on Kol, and stay with Rebekah. They all needed blood, and while he trusted himself with her, it wasn't the ideal situation. Truthfully, all those promises were the furthest thing from her mind at the moment and she was surprised when Elijah actually stopped to kneel in front of her after his siblings had gone past. Lifting her gaze to his, she tried to think of what to say but she felt blank.

"I don't know." She admitted a moment later, surprising herself.

He nodded a little. Honestly, he didn't think any of them was all right, at the moment. Klaus tended to have that ripple effect on people.

"What do you need?" He didn't know what he could do, if anything, but his intention in all of this was not to make anything worse for anyone. "I admit to being a bit behind in what's going on. Alaric only told us so much, so far..."

Elena looked down as he asked her what she needed and there were a million things she wanted to say and yet she couldn't say anything. Not right away. Then she wanted to tell him she wanted to go home, that she didn't want to stay in the city any more than she had to, but she knew it would be impossible to ask.

"I came to see Stefan to bring him back home." She murmured softly as she looked at him again. "He told me he didn't want to see me or be with me ever again. He just told me to leave so Klaus would never know I was still alive."

Elijah shifted to sit next to her, leaning against the wall, watching her.

"Wanting you to leave before Klaus saw you indicates he still cares," Elijah said quietly. He didn't know enough about what was going on to know if offering encouragement or not was a good thing. But he knew what it was like to feel like someone you loved didn't love you anymore. "And the urge was a good one. We need to keep you away from him, though..." He frowned a little. "The ritual worked. I saw him turn. It might not be too big of an issue at this point."
