Thanks!
Yeah Word provides a good thesaurus service and so does OpenOffice.org. The issue is however of the author realizing that she can find a better option for a typed word. While the existing thesaurus services have to be explicitly invoked, WiRWiB works more like the silent spellchecker who keeps informing you about wrong spellings in an unsolicited yet non-intrusive way.
Plus, WiRWiB shows usage examples, sense descriptions and comes in Hindi as well. It can be extended to any language which has a similar lexical database.

Hope you enjoy using WiRWiB. Feedback welcome!

this is very interesting. how contextually relevant do you find the suggestions or are they context unaware suggestions? just curious.

Thanks for your interest.
The suggestions provided are based on user's Locale setting (i.e., the language user is using) and the typed word.
WiRWiB picks up synonyms, sense descriptions and usage examples from WordNet, for the typed word and displays to the user.

I think the comment is whether you take the context of the word into account when finding synonyms - for example, to identify the correct synset from Wordnet and then show its member words.
