Radiohead is one of those artists like Aphex Twin or Tool, where they could put out a record of them just tuning their guitars and making static and there would be tons of people hailing it as the new thing and going on about how its musical genius.

Pretty much yeah *cough* tool sucks. And this somehow reminds me of what somebody said to me once. "If Layne Staley died when Kurt Cobain did, then Alice In Chains would be the 'great innovative grunge genius band and spokesman of that decade with the greatest anthem ever.'" Anyway I think the connection that I'm trying to make is that people want to believe that "artists" don't stagnate; that they're limitless in creative integrity.
