So I've had a super-enjoyable summer so far. A trip home and to Miami, R&R, sleeping in, and some workshops. Fun! Really looking forward to Comic Con and San Diego, of course. Here's is my tentative schedule.
Brace yourself, because I'm super-organized and planned out and shit. Taking a cue from
aninnocent, I even called upon the dark power that is Excel. I have a list of primary panels I want to see, along with backups just in case something is full or I don't feel like dealing with another LINE OF PEOPLE on my goddamn vacation. But shit, I'll probably forget to email myself or print out the spreadsheet and I'll be lost as hell anyway.
Thurs
This is going to be a long day for me, if I end up staying through for the Dr. Horrible Sing-Along at 8.
Priorities
The Hobbit
Women in Sci-Fi (Basically just for Ms. Sigourney Weaver, whom I LOVE)
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (I don't really care about the movie, but its voice actors include Andy Samberg, Sam Hader, and Anna Ferris, so I figure the panel will be ha-ha-hillarious.)
Avatar (Not counting on being able to get into this one, but I'll try, damnit. ETA: At second glance, the panel right before this one in Hall H is New Moon, so I'm REALLY not holding my breath.)
Kick-Ass
Dr. Horrible (Well see how much juice I have at that point.)
Trick R Treat (Ditto)
Alternates
Astro Boy (Kristen Bell is one of the voices!)
DC Comics: Superman
Burn Notice
Golden/Silver Age Comics (I predict a clusterfuck at the Avatar line, so this is probably where I'll be. But looks like a neat panel, so that's ok.)
Green Lantern Animated Movie
Friday
Priorities
Warner Brothers Movies (This includes the Nightmare on Elm St. remake, plus Jonah Hex, which is pretty cool on its own. But, I have a sneaking suspicion that there's going to be a surprise appearance by one Mr. Ryan Reynolds, since they just announced his casting in the new Green Lantern flick.)
Bones
Dollhouse/Joss Q&A
TV Guide Sci-Fi Hot List
RiffTrax (aka the crew from MST3K)
Alternates
Batman: The Brave and the Bold
BSG/Caprica (I'd LOVE to see this, but it's on at the same time as the Warner Bros. panel.)
Penguin Publishing (The folks who publish the Sookie books and the Dresden Files).
Saturday
This is going to be a tough day! I am going to have to Sophie's Choice between being in Hall H plenty early for the Iron Man 2 panel, or being able to see the new V pilot, which I'm dying for. There is no justice!
Priorities
Eastwick
Iron Man 2 or V
True Blood
Alternates
These aren't alternates as much as they are time-fillers in rooms where there are later panels I wanna catch.
Family Guy/Cleveland
Extract (the new Mike Judge flick.)
Zombieland/2012
The more I think about it, the more staying in Ballroom 20 makes sense. The panels will be a little smaller and more intimate, and therefore more amenable to fun with sippy cups. But wouldn't it be a hoot to ask Gwyneth if she works on her Goop site in between takes???
On Saturday night I am gonna mosey on down to the gayborhood for fun and merriment. With that in mind, I plan on sleeping in on Sunday, and if I go to the con at all, I might just go to check out the floor. This year, I'd like to check out the zoo and/or the beach.
