(also, apparently in the 90s the law in texas was that you couldn't have more than 12 dildoes because then it goes from having them for personal use to selling them. kind of like drugs, I guess. anyway, so this band in the bay area once went on tour and the singer brought an extra suitcase, which, for band-vans is a big deal. Lack of space, right? So he wouldn't tell anyone what was in it, and finally, they get to Texas. And he brings the suitcase on stage (I believe - remember, this is like a 4th-hand story) and opens it and lo and behold, it's full of dildoes.

i've always kinda not gotten involved in politics and would just smile and nod when someone talked about it. i'm finding this is no longer the case and was just commenting on how it's their own damn fault i'm no longer neutral cause they keep doing dumber and dumber things. ps "bag o' dildoes" is our new band name.

While I would obviously still love you dearly if you did remain apolitical, I'm glad to hear you're emerging into the rather insane world of politics. Unfortunately just by the instrinsic nature of who you are, it's hard to remain uninvolved. I wish more straight people would realize how much they are being effected by these right-wing crazies (see Dan Savage's "straight rights updates" for what I'm talking about), but it seems like it'd be nearly impossible to be an openly gay person and have that luxury. That sucks, but unfortunately it's a fact of our current life. If enough of us get political now, maybe next generation won't have to...
