the 7 principles of kwanzaa

Apr 01, 2007 17:32

Last night we FINALLY had the Kwanzaa party that Ryan has been talking about for probably over a year now. I really think it ended up being everything he dreamed it would be. We only drank 40s and listened to Wu Tang and a few of us actually wore some traditional kwanzaa outfits. It's time for some pictures + commentary:

Ryan's "I bet you can't" glass. It holds exactly 2 40s! Two people completed the challenge that night.

Kyle just getting started with his challenge!

Me and Ryan rockin the Dashiki, head wrap, and of course our 40s.

The seven principles of Kwanzaa:
1. Umoja - Unity
2. Kujichagulia - Self Determination
3. Ujima - Collective Work and Responsibility
4. Ujamaa - Cooperative Economics
5. Nia - Purpose
6. Kuumba - Creativity
7. Imani - Faith

Ryan toasting to one of the principles.

I don't even know about this one.. but it makes me laugh cuz it looks like I'm rockin a ghetto booty. How appropriate.

Me Julia and Ryan! So cute.

Julia is imitating the pet hedgehog. I don't know what I'm doing.

Ryan making another toast. The Dashiki is now totally ruined since he just HAD to go outside and ghost ride the whip.

Haha he is quite the friendly drunk.

Such an AWESOME party! It was a pretty sweet group of people who I might not have normally hung out with, but still had a killer time. Played some fun drinking games, did some dancin, and had an all around great semi-racist time :)
