Bummed...

Okay so today I'm really bummed out. Yesterday Rob told me that he had a plane rented out for us for today and we were going to fly somewhere. Well, I thought we were going to St. Augustine for the day which I was really happy about because I love it there and it has my favorite restaurant. Well, last night Rob told me that we weren't going there ( Read more... )

*HUGS* I'm sorry that Rob is acting so resistant to the whole thing. Have you recently sat down and talked with him about it? I mean, I know that hints and little things are exchanged between the two of you, but have you really sat down and had a heart to heart about how his comments/behaviors are making your feel? I know that it's a really scary conversation to have, but it would help clear up some miscommunication and make sure that eventually he will be ready to take that next step towards committment.

Man I'm sorry about that :-( It's not stupid to get your hopes up at this point. I mean, you two have been together for 6 or more years! It's only natural to feel that way. I would be totally. bummed too especially since he was so rude about putting your proposal idea down! Do guys not know how to tiptoe around a touchy subject??? Sorry you got your hopes up.

The plane ride sounded like fun though! How can he just get a plane ride somewhere?

I try to talk about the whole engagement thing but Rob is kinda old school when it comes to things like that. He feels like it should totally be up to the man and the woman shouldn't have any say (including picking out the engagement ring...he does know what I like though). Sometimes I feel bad about always bringing it up because he has such a stressful job that I don't want to add more on top of it. I don't expect to be engaged/married tomorrow but I would like a general timeline on the issue. I think that next week when he gets back from work I'm going to bring it up again. I've pretty much decided that if by January he hasn't proposed I'm going to give him an ultimatum. I hate for it to get to that, but it will have been 7 years by then and I refuse to be someone's lifetime girlfriend. I think another thing that scares him is that SOOOO many people we know are getting engaged/married after not dating all that long and they are having a lot of problems. Rob and I are both from divorced families ( ... )
