For a fraction of a second, the next event actually sounded pretty okay. I'm down with anything talking about seeing friends again, y'know? But uh... the rest? Screaming and running and tricks? And moldy treacle don't sound like a picnic, either. (What the hell is treacle, anyway? Some kinda cake?)

Oh, and uh... Rain Guar- Yamamoto? Thanks for a ( Read more... )

What's an event? Was the having to say long names and wearing nice clothes thing one of those?

Yeah, basically. We'll get riddles every once in a while, and they'll hint that something weird's gonna happen. It usually has to do with somebody's memories, so the classy get-up was probably from somebody's home life.

Speaking of long names, I know what Yamamoto called you, but I don't know what you're cool with. You can call me Max.

...This place is extremely weird.

Ryohei's fine. That's what most people call me.

How come Max wasn't the name that was in my head when I met you?

Trust me, it'll only get weirder. One of my first nights here, I met someone who's apparently a clone of a clone of one of my brothers. Freaky as hell.

Ryohei it is, then.

... probably because that wasn't the name I was born with.

It does not sound pleasant at all.

I was thinking of having one big dinner in the kitchen, just in case food is not available for the next few days.

Most of them don't, even if they end up being okay.

That sounds like a good idea. Moldy treacle doesn't sound too great, no matter what treacle is.

It was hinted that there would be a dark side to the last event but... Well, it was subtle, whatever it was.

I think it's something sweet.
Would you like to come by? I can make enough for two.

I prefer it when they're as subtle as a ton of bricks, but that's never the case.

Don't put yourself out. I'll probably be swinging by the kitchen to get something fast, but I wouldn't want anybody cooking for me. Unless he really wants to, of course.
