yeah you're alive even with all those handycaps of not having senses...
your quality of life wouldn't be very good (at all), but that doesn't make a person dead.

What would you think? Would you sleep? Would you dream?

Eh, take it the other way.

There's a whole lot of people walking around Briarwood whose brains died a long time ago, but because their vital organs still function, even with the handicap of being braindead, they're considered alive...

the person wouldnt be dead as we know dead.
like in the ground, or above the fireplace dead.
but they wouldnt be living.
life isnt life without experiencing.

If a brain is living, it is still alive.
The question is....are you still human?
Being human...and "living", as we think of it...requires both the body and the mind to some extent. This is a reason for valuing the body.
The thing is, where do you draw the line? That seems to be what you're asking. Like, can we have a specific number of body parts that, after taking them away, the person wouldn't be considered a person?
You have someone like Terry Schiavo
Or a retarded person
Or an aborted fetus (yikes)
....are they still human? What is man?
