I found an excellent tutorial on how to make an old-style Russian Constructivist poster, so I made a version of it for my flatmate's singer-songwriter act.
Very cool! I've a soft spot for this particular style, and this poster looks splendid in it. It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out what the text was supposed to say. XD My brain kept reading the Cyrillic letters as Cyrillic, rather than English, haha. But I finally got it! Anarcho-apathist!! What letter is the font using ч to represent?
Anyway, lovely work, especially once I figured out how reading works. Definitely a style that suits the subject matter, I feel like. :D
I think the one you mean is 'Y' My friend's stage name is Jack Blimey. As in the British exclamation 'Blimey!' Thanks :D The teacher has more tutorials for this style, so I'm gonna do them too. Plus I saw one on Lynda.com for the Swiss design style. Gonna try that after work one day :D
OHHH, that makes sense!! In Russian it makes a 'ch' sound, so I was like... Jack Blimech doesn't really sound like a name, much less a stage name. Clearly I am doing something wrong here. XD
