I have a brief to create an online portfolio for artists/photographers/designers and other creatives. It should be adaptable, so that the individual can shape it for themselves. If you have used a portfolio site or template, please tell me which one and what is/was good or bad about it. What features would you have liked added? What feedback have ( Read more... )

I used Wix's free templates, to varying degrees of success. Good, in that it had quite a few decent, modern-looking, attractive templates. Bad (in terms of the free ones), in that they won't answer your questions or provide support unless you purchase their services, and I suspect the galleries provided deliberately over-sharpen your uploaded images to make them look not-perfect, so that you'll buy an upgrade. It's all fairly user-friendly, though...which is important for artists who aren't great at coding. LIKE ME.

Oh, ALSO! It supplies templates that are theoretically good on all devices. I have had issues with this, but they're trying. I guess. (A bunch of my art buds really like Square Space, and when I can afford it, I'll probably move over to them.)
