I do understand. I grew up in the church and was in line to be a minister at one point in my life. I highly doubt that there is anything you could possibly have said that would be new news to me.
I think one of the big problems with Christians is their holier than thou I pity you attitude that they feel they are required to force on everyone else. I neither want nor require your pity. I didn't ask you to come into my space and start preaching to me. It's folks with that attitude that feel they have to force their morality into law. I am kind of shocked you can reconcile being friends with someone who is openly homosexual, but maybe you pity him as well. I guess you are in that only certain parts of the Bible are relevant camp though.
I feel bad for any Christian who feels the need to judge others that they know nothing about. There is nothing about you or your religion that make you superior to me. If you want to pity me great, feel free. You can also feel free to keep your pity to yourself.
And I apologized for it. You can either accept my apology or not. That's up to you.
As far as not wanting to stir up anything in a friend of a friend's post, I don't play that game. The picture took me back and I wrote without thinking. That's not like me to do that. I guess that's what shock factor can do to a person.
Regardless, I've said my peace and hope you will accept it.
I think the point is that in life not everyone will share your views, and you won't share everyone else's views.
Just because someone else's world view is different from your own doesn't give you the right to open a dialog about the differences, and it certainly doesn't give you the right to judge their world view.
A similar situation would be if you didn't believe in spanking children. If you were at the mall and saw a mother swatting their child's backside for acting up would you immediately pipe up and tell her to stop because you don't think it's right?
This is all dumb. She said she was sorry. Leave her alone gah. She's probably already crying real tears and not just LJ ones. WHERE ARE YOUR HEARTS THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON YOU VICIOUS LJ BASTARDS
Really though, I expected better drama. Instead it was some chick that doesn't know the made-up etiquette rules of LJ (ROFLOLZ) oversteppin and being told so and then apologizing over and over again while everyone keeps responding to her apologies with more lecturing. :-\
PLUS I CAN RELATE B/C THAT ONE TIME THAT I MADE THOSE COMMENTS AND DIDN'T MEAN TO MAKE YOU CRY AND IT WAS IN JEST AND AIMEE HATED ME LOTS FOR IT WELL I DIDN'T CRY I LAUGHED A LOT SO MAYBE THAT'S NOT AT ALL WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE CHRISTIAN. NEVERMIND I'M NOT ON THE DUMMY'S SIDE AFTER ALL. I CHOOSE YOU. I MIGHT FRIEND HER JUST SO I CAN OMGDEFRIEND HER OVER THIS.

The only way I would stop a mother from hitting her child is if she was beating them, not spanking them. There's a difference.

You didn't really make me cry real tears. I just cut myself to relieve the pain that time.

I HOPE YOU'RE NOT CRYING AND CUTTING YOURSELF ALL OVER AGAIN NOW THAT I'VE MADE YOU RELIVE THE EXPERIENCE BY BRINGING UP THE PAST. :'(
