Wow. I started reading your lj because of those pictures you had on that comment thread about self-injuring. I don't self-injure but I know people who do. That's why I checked it out. Then I wanted to know why you thought you were a failure, so I read some of your lj entries. No luck in finding out why you think you're a failure, but I did find out that you are a Marilyn Manson fan. It's odd that I didn't figure it out from your screen name. I've never really listened to Marilyn Manson, but my parents were quick to judge him based on his appearance. I thought it was different, but I wasn't totally against him like my parents were/are. What songs, specifically, would you recommend? --Em
I admit the majority of my journal is locked, at least the posts that have less to do with what I look like and more to do with what I feel like. The reason for "failure" was based solely on some poor relationship choices I was making, and there was a fight with my lover that caused me to see myself as a failure. I don't ordinarily cut in words or symbols, that was the first time I'd done that and I suppose I took the photograph to immortalize it. The scars don't always last (those didn't) but the picture has continued to serve as a reminder that I don't always do the right thing.
As for the Marilyn Manson songs I'd recommend, it's hard for me to pick favorites from each album. If you're interested in getting a sample cross-cut of Manson over the years, it will please you to hear that he'll be releasing a greatest hits CD on 9/28 that will also include a bonus DVD of all his videos to date, including s(AINT) from his last album The Golden Age Of Grotesque. Also on the CD and DVD is their new cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal

Greetings. I apologize if I am intruding, however, I, like many people I`m sure, found you through the post on self-injury. In the past, I have suffered from the addiction that is generally associated with self-injury and have reminders of it through photography, as well.
Your pictures fascinated me beyond belief and I decided to visit your journal. After looking through a few of your entries, I decided to add you. If you wouldn`t mind, I would enjoy being added in return. I am an artist as well and express myself through photography and I would enjoy viewing more of your work [ both photos and writing ] if you see fit. Thank you for considering and take care.
I'm not quite in the best place right now, mentally. Things have been pretty shitty the past six months and my entries seem to be on a slow downhill tack. So if you're unconcerned with the variable state of my negativity, you're welcome to come aboard. I certainly wouldn't consider myself an artist, I don't think. Maybe in the broad sense of the word, in the way a drag queen is an artist, or a cover band. But we can argue semantics for hours and not accomplish much. Either way, welcome.
