Did you happen to read Jessica Abel's La Perdida before going there?

Oh man, this really makes me want to get up and go on holidays somewhere exotic and green. Your photos are gorgeous and Mexico looks beautiful.

What kind of German class are you taking?

Elementary German. Beyond watching some movies I have no knowledge whatsoever.

It was a lot greener than I expected. I think it just happens to be really really lush this season because of the rains. You should! You take nice nature photos!

Wow, man, you make Mexico look so pretty!! I'd like to go and explore it beyond Tijuana.

Maybe the visitors were the ones keeping the animals fed.

I'd like to go back again and do the coasts (sea turtle nestings!)and the gulf. We only spent most of our time in the super-urban areas, believe it or not, and I would've liked to see more natural Mexico.

...And then I want to see all of South Amerca. :)

I'll BET. The tigers are probably full of kids and water bottles.

Me too me too. I've wanted to go to Peru ever since knowing of its existence. Maybe do one of these: http://www.i-to-i.com/

I want to go to Peru SO HARD. When I was working at Wolf all the most magical photos consistently came from Peru/Macchu Picchu.

Yeah, I've looked into the i-to-i programs. I would looove to volunteer abroad but the prices scare me off a little. Especially with the exchange rate in South America, I bet you could spend a lot less on lodging and food on your own.

If you're at all interested in farming though, you should do this: http://www.wwoof.org/ I've heard of several people who've done this, and I'm thinking about it. I think if you pad it with an extra week or two of personal traveling, it should be a good affordable trip!

I haven't visited Mexico in 11 years. Glad to know it hasn't changed much.

Also, did you notice a lot of dogs on some of the roofs? Just wondering..

Lots of dogs on roofs! Not altogether, but enough that they wouldn't stop barking at each other constantly.
