Not an e-mail, but - I bought Koko the other day, and read it front to back in what felt like a flash! I've followed your art for a while, and I really love the way your style has transformed. All the lines in the book were very fluid and the perspectives and compositions are expressive in a really lovely way. I also adore Jon :) I only wish I were on the West coast and able to go to some of these events! Best of luck!
For static sequential art, you have a way of illustration that really makes the characters almost animated. The facial expressions are really what do it for me.
When this really struck me was p 153: the sequence of expressions on Koko's face was perfect. It gave me a thrill. I ran over that page several times, and keep coming back to it, as probably one of my favorites in the whole book. Such an unguarded expression for Koko, there in the dark, and captured perfectly.
