Watanabe Daisuke has never considered himself as a jealous man...but recently, on more than one occasion, he finds the little green eyes monster resting comfortably on his shoulder, given to him by his cute young lover.
For
anncho! xDDD
He was irritated...
Beyond annoyed...
To put it bluntly he was pissed off.
Sitting on the couch in his living room, the lights out and staring at the television blankly and hadn't moved for hours, too angry to care what he was watching, too annoyed to move from his position, too tense with rage and an extreme jealousy.
That's right: jealousy.
Watanabe Daisuke, age 29, was jealous. Jealous over a boy almost a decade younger than him.
He huffed in annoyance.
Just only hours before, he had been talking to his younger lover, Hamao Kyousuke, or more affectionately dubbed Mao, or Kyou-chan during their umm...*cough* nightly activities, on his cellphone. They had been planning to go out together that evening. It was one of the few times in a matter of months that they've been able to see each other. Daisuke had been anticipating this night for awhile now. That soon, he'd finally be able to see his lover outside of work.
No interviews, no stage plays, no movies or photo shoots, just them.
However, he did not expect his adorable lover to call him and tell he was going to be late to their date, after spending the day with her.
That creature who he had become to loathe with every fiber of his being. The one that had taken away one of the few nights he could spend with Mao and turned it into a complete bust.
She went by the name of Yuki and she was one of Mao's old high school classmates. They had met again on one of Mao's many gatherings he would have with his high school friends. From what Daisuke could tell, she was not a friend but apparently one of Mao's many admirers. But due to Mao's kindness and his naivety, which would Daisuke found both a blessing and a curse, he hadn't minded her constant calls and emails, saying it was no big deal.
But they had a developed a friendship over time. Though, Daisuke suspected that it was so much more for Yuki that just friendship. Why Mao couldn't see that, he didn't know.
When he heard that about the change of plans, he had been so angry. However, instead of voicing his anger and obvious jealousy, he had calmly listened to Mao, who said that he would meet Daisuke at his apartment later that night. Hanging up the phone with his adorable “bye bye”, only made Daisuke even worse. He would have thrown his cellphone threw the wall....luckily, he wasn't the violent type.
And now, he sat alone. Sulking.
Daisuke sighed. His mind still full of dangerous thoughts. The kind of thoughts that consisted of one particular girl and ways that he could box her up and ship her to some foreign country. Like to one of those African countries, where the chances of her being eaten by some wild animal were high, or at least, would get bitten by a poisonous snake and die a slow painful death...okay, maybe that is too much.
When he had become like this? This jealous person?
He had never been that way before he met Mao. The relationships he had before had never consisted of any these rabid thoughts at all. He just wasn't the type to worry about it; the easy-going, light-hearted, and goofy person that he was, it never bothered him.
He had always believed in trust in relationships. And he had no reason not to trust the person he was with, than he wouldn't need to feel jealousy. To him, it was a waste of energy.
So, he never found himself being jealous. Except when it came to Mao.
Though, when they had officially started dating, he never had that this feeling.
Of course, there was always a protective feeling that would come up when it came to Mao. However, that was different. He had always felt the need to shield the boy, whom, at the time they met, was barely 16, and he had felt a strong need to guard him from the hurt and heartbreak that this cruel world could give out, and wanting to protect that smile that should always be permanently lit on that boy's lovely face.
And being witness to Mao's heartbreak more than two years ago, he had never wanted to see that look on his face again....And for that, he knew he could be a little...over-protective at times.
Also, with Mao, he never felt he had to worry about it, since he knew most of Mao's acquaintances and friends anyway, so he never had the need to feel jealous.
But that feeling was completely different with jealous, and often times, possessive feeling. It didn't crawl underneath his skin, filling his stomach with uneasiness, and cramming his brain full of uncomfortable scenarios that would cause his whole body to shake with rage and constant worry.
He started to feel that way about one year ago. All of a sudden, he had begun to notice a change in himself.
He had become deeply aware of the boy's admirers, to the point it would almost drive him crazy. He saw the stares, the flirty smiles, the casual touches, EVERYTHING he could see. And it did bother him. A LOT.
He had seen those looks before of course, but he didn't let it show. He would laugh it off or find some way to drawn attention to himself. Since, Daisuke himself was a good-looking man, no doubt turning heads everywhere he went.
But there was something about Mao that drew people to him, causing Daisuke problems in more ways than one.
One incident he could remember, was when he and Mao were eating out together, and one particular waiter was being extra “helpful” to his younger lover. It was one of the few times he snapped and ended up, “accidentally” of course, knocking his hot tea into the waiter's lap, causing a scene in which Mao still has not forgiven him for.
Before that incident, he wouldn't have batted an eye that waiter's flirtation with his lover, and would have laughed it off completely. But this time, he couldn't hold it in.
No, now just holding it in, only made it worse.
Especially, when Mao had absolutely no idea about those looks at all. He didn't even recognize the signs, that or he just ignored it, which made Daisuke even more annoyed. And no matter how many times he would tell Mao about the people who looked his way, and the boy would look at him with a surprised look and the usual “Eh?” Which again, would make Daisuke sighed heavily, try to bang his head against a hard object.
How can such a cute boy be so completely oblivious? He really didn't know.
But then again, it wasn't if Mao was unreliable because of it. Quite the contrary. For, despite his young age, the boy was very mature. Even in his teens, Mao held a sense of calmness and hardworking nature, that still amazed him. The boy was responsible, loyal, and could hold his own, even when they had first met. And he admired Mao for it. And he knew Mao loved him, even if he was occasionally too shy to say it at times.
So he had no reason to suspect Mao was cheating.
Then why was he so angry?
Perhaps it was the feeling of losing someone he loved. The feeling of loving so much, but it not being enough. The feeling of not making the person he loved the most happy.
To imagine someone else holding, touching, kissing, loving Mao in ways that he could not, only scared and frustrated him.
And he hated those feelings.
Daisuke jerked from his thoughts to hear a clinging of a key (which had been given to Mao not long as after they became official) and then the door being opened.
He turned to see the object of his very thoughts.
And a very cute object he might add. Mao was a wearing a gray winter coat and jeans, his long neck protected by a white scarf. His messy hair looked like he had been standing in front of a jet plane, and his cheeks were bright pink, burnt from the cold wind. Mao turned as he closed the door and smiled brilliantly at him, making him almost feel like he was being blinded by the brightness of that smile.
And he was supposed angry, but all he wanted was to kiss those pale lips and stroke that wind-burnt cheek.
Damn it, he was differently hooked.
“Tadaima,” Mao called as he walked in.
“Okaeri,” Daisuke replied, normally hating how he sounded like a whiny child, but at that moment, he didn't really care. Mao deserved his annoyance.
That annoyance that Mao usually directed him, so Daisuke was really happy to be on the other end of this argument.
“Sorry I'm so late!” Mao said, taking off his coat, breathing loudly due to being slightly out of breathe, that Daisuke assumed due to him running from the bus station to Daisuke's apartment. Which was about five blocks.
Daisuke leaned against the wall, his arms folded across his chest, watching his lover remove most of his winter clothing. He knew he looked rather intimidating right now, with a scowl on his face, but Mao was completely oblivious to it, which made Daisuke even more sour.
“What took you so long? When you called earlier you were only ten minutes away, its been an hour,” Daisuke said, sounding like a mother whose child came home late for curfew.
Since when did he become the time-police?
“Yuki-chan had to stop by the store. She needed some new clothes,” Mao said while unwrapping the scarf from around his neck and turned to face Daisuke.
Of course she did. You wouldn't want to disappoint Yuki-chan now would we? Daisuke said sarcastically to himself.
“Oh I see.....,” Daisuke mumbled, purposefully sounded as annoyed and hurt as he felt.
Mao seemed to sense that because he slowly walked up in front of Daisuke, staring face to face, their noses almost touching, looking like he was about to kiss him.
And all Daisuke could do was stare right back.
“What's wrong?” Mao asked curiously.
“Nothing...” he said, looking to side, avoiding Mao's eyes, “I just figured that you wouldn't be back so soon, since you were having SO much fun with Yuki-chan.”
He made no attempt to hide the bitterness in his voice.
Mao blinked his large brown eyes at him questionably, “Why are you so upset? I told you I was going to be late and I said I was sorry. You normally don't act this way at all. So what else is wrong?”
“Nothing. It's just...I just thought we had everything planned for tonight. I had everything planned perfectly...and we hardly get to see each other and....now it's ruined because of...(sigh) it's nothing, don't worry about it,” Daisuke mumbled, running a hand through hair, “you'll probably have more fun with her anyway, so why bother coming here to see me?”
Geez he sounded like a pathetic, whiny, teenage girl.
“I was just out with Yuki-chan and we got a little sidetra-”
“Yuki, Yuki, Yuki...that's all I've been hearing about for past two weeks,” Daisuke grumbled, and then mumbled under his breath, “is spending time with her more important than spending the night with your lover?”
Okay, now he was getting a little mean and childish. But he couldn't help it. This jealous made him act so weird, so he couldn't keep the words from flowing from his mouth.
Mao looked at him, surprised, and then his eyes widen in realization, and then he stifled a giggle with his hand, “Dai-chan, you're not jealous of Yuki-chan are you? Is that why you're so upset?”
At seeing Mao's laugh, he only got angrier. His annoyance getting the better of him, he turned to walk back into the living room when he felt long arms wrap around his stomach and a warm body pressed against his back.
“I'm sorry,” the younger boy attached to his back said, “I didn't mean to laugh. It's just, I've never seen you this upset before and I was surprised is all. But you have nothing to worry about with me and Yuki. I wouldn't want to be anywhere but here.”
At hearing those words, Daisuke turned to face the sincere eyes of his lover.
Mao smiled gently, “and besides, I couldn't stay with Yuki-chan very long anyway, since she was meeting her boyfriend at 6.”
Her boy-“Huhhh?!” Daisuke squeaked out in surprise.
Mao giggled cutely at this response, “Yes. Actually, that's her fiance. She's engaged.”
Daisuke could only stand there, mouth agape...wow, didn't he feel intelligent at that moment.
“.....And also, I was late because I wanted to give Dai-chan this-”
The boy turned slightly to search his pant pocket and turned back towards Daisuke.
“Here,” Mao said, using his large chocolate eyes to direct Daisuke to look downward.
Surprised, Daisuke looked down to see two tickets, held between Mao's fingers.
Daisuke's eyes widen: “That's-”
“Yep! Two tickets to the match you wanted to go to,” Mao giggled, like a child who just told his parents he had aced his exams.
Daisuke grabbed the tickets from his smiling boyfriend and held them in front his face, grinning widely. He had really wanted to go this match. His favorite soccer team had been playing their rival and he had really wanted to go. But at time, he had been so busy practicing for a stage play and by the time he had some time to look for tickets, the game had already been sold out. He was completely devastated.
“Wait, how did you get these?” Completely curious as to how his younger lover, who didn't have much taste in soccer (tennis being more Mao's thing of course), who had acquired these tickets.
“Yuki's father works at the stadium where they're playing at tonight. Yuki mentioned that to me at one of our reunions, she said that she would gave them to me, in exchange for catching up on old times,” Mao said, rocking innocently back and forth on his heels while doing so, “I'm sorry that I was late the date you planned, but I figured we could-”
A light-bulb clicked in the older man's head.
Ooooh....so that's why Mao had spent so much time with that girl lately. It was all for him.
And as Mao continued to ramble about their plans for the rest of the evening, Daisuke could only feel a little guilty about the anger and jealous that he had been filled with only a second ago.
Daisuke sighed to himself. Once again, he felt like a total heel, just like that time in the cafe. This horrible jealous he had been feeling slowly seeped away as he realized that, once again, Mao would never betray him.
Daisuke smiled, and as he sat the two tickets down on the counter, he leaned forward, capturing his boyfriend's soft lips with his own, halting the boy's mutterings. Though his own eyes were closed, Daisuke could just imagine Mao's eyes widening in surprise, but then slowly closing, as his talented tongue made Mao weak at the knees. Instantly, Mao's lips started to move with Daisuke's own, in its usual dance. Daisuke's arms reached down to wrap possessively around the boy's waist while Mao's own hands wrapped around his shoulders, gripping tightly.
Once they broke apart, he watched as Mao's eyes broke from its trance and stared back at him with such intense love, Daisuke almost felt his heart about to burst.
“Thank you. This really means a lot to me,” he said, reaching up to caress the boy's messy hair.
Mao smiled back, even more brightly this time that Daisuke was sure his heart had exploded.
It was okay, he had concluded. It was normal to have these feelings occasionally, especially when it came to a person he loved the most. It was normal to wonder, to worry, to be afraid, to be jealous, it was normal, especially when it came to Mao.
But, as long as he knew that Mao loved him just as much, he wouldn't let those feelings run his life nor hinder their relationship.
Nodding in agreement with himself, he leaned once again to claim the boy's lips once more.
And that night, after the glorious win of his favored team, he celebrated it with Mao, in a very special way.
THE END
This fic was made for
anncho! Sorry hun for it coming so late! And I know it's exactly like you wanted /gomen!/ But I will write another with how you described it soon. I actually plan to make more jealous moments by Daisuke (and Mao too) in the future.
But I hope you'll like this one in the mean time! ^____^
And about Mao's gift...I believe Daisuke does like soccer, but I don't know if he has a favorite team or anything or if he even goes to any games or really cares that much about. It was just a gift I made up because I already had Mao give Daisuke a gift (a necklace) in my first fic and I didn't want to be repetitive. So, the significance behind the tickets was made-up by me. And rather poorly I guess lol. But I hope it's still believable :)))
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys it. Once again, I'm sorry for my extra detailed writing and lack of good dialogue haha ^^
Thanks for reading!
