I love how you made the ending ambiguous.
It could be separation through marriage death or etc.
But the way you wrote the angst could be felt.

Thanks, I'm glad you like that. The meaning of the clock did have a specific meaning originally, but I figured that it would more interesting for its meaning to be unknown, since as you said, the separation could be anything. And I like it when readers have a chance form their own opinions in the endings, especially on an oneshot and its a lot of fun to write^^
And so relieved that the angst was could still be felt. Since it was so short I was worried about certain emotions not coming through but I'm glad that it turned out okay in the angst department.
