does anyone else find it odd that The Faint is on the Saddle Creek label? and that Interpol is on Matador?

i only recently picked up Danse Macabre, and i'm not sure i feel compelled to pick up any of their other albums just yet. it just seemed surprising to me that The Faint could be on the same label as Bright Eyes.

Truth be told, they're on Saddle Creek because they're from Omaha and Saddle Creek is the Omaha indie label. You'll find a lot of Saddle Creek's catalogue hails from that general area, Bright Eyes included.

n.b. their first record, by the by, actually sounds a lot like if The Cure had a serious prog-rock injection.
