What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Northeast

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Oh, brother! You? Midland? Even my college friends were commenting on your Brooklyn accent, and that was, oh, so many years ago, and your accent only got stronger during those years.

You are probably getting this result because the test asks how you are hearing things and you are answering based on what you hear on TV/radio.

No - what they are calling the "midland" accent is quite distinct. And, IMNSHO, ugly ( ... )

Er, what would YOU call a sandwich made on a long roll with lots of stuff? Seriously, I'd say "hero". Even before I moved to NorthEast Jersey.

My accent is purely slavic. Someone at work said once to me (jokingly) that .dat file is the opposite of .dis file. That, and the vowels pretty much betray me. Whoever doesn't think that I speak Russian, believes that I speak Polish. My parents have the same accent, only heavier. My chldren..I wouldn't be surprised if there are some Korean undertones in their speech.

But you have to hear the way my brother speaks!
