We're deep into winter here already, with cold weather and snow for awhile now. I have to say that I've already had enouch of it. I know that the skiers (and ski lodge owners) are happy, and that a lot of people are looking forward to having a good old fashioned white christmas this year. It's been a strange summer - more hot weather than I enjoy, but not as bad as I was afraid it would be, and lots of rain. I've neglected my journal for a long time. I've been too busy working in my garden, and volunteering at a wildlife centre. Finally, some normal spring weather. For awhile it looked like winter was never going to leave, then it got hot and sunny immediately, as if summer was here. It seemed like spring was already here, although I didn't see that many birds yet. Then we had another round of snow and cold weather. But I went for a long walk in the park and at the arboretum today, and it was actually a pleasant day, if I ignored the occasional snow flake. And I saw my first robin of the year.
