I'm not a huge fan of the idea of commissioning fan art, but I think, for some reason, it'd be more legally viable than commissioning fan fiction. One, because JK's work is in the written medium, and the art is just emulating that written medium as opposed to... rewriting that medium? Not that that makes much more sense, but I get the feeling that fan artists think they can get away with it because it is not the same medium. For example, if they are not drawing canon scenes from the books, it's really just someone who could be Ron Weasley, or could be Hermione Granger; if Harry Potter were graphic novels, I think getting away with it would be much more difficult

I totally get what you are saying and I agree with you! I guess all the fanartists out there are actually drawing the "mean blond haired family" rather than the Malfoys! ;)

Hi! I unfortunately do not have any knowledge whatsoever as to the topic of your post.

I just wanted to tell you how very much I enjoyed participating in the exchange. It's the first one I've ever done and it was so much fun! You guys made it so much less scary by being so organized and clear about everything, and everyone was so helpful every time I had a question.

Thank you SO much for what had to have been a LOT of work. It is much appreciated!

I would have done this in the dmhgficexchange, but I didn't want everyone to see it, and I know your a mod there.

Rourke, iheartme42, asked me to do this for her. I'm really bad with words in situations like these so sorry for the bluntness...

She was in a car accident over the weekend and she's going to be out for a while. She's ok, but she's going to be in the hospital for a few weeks. She said she signed up for a second fic in the free for all and won't be able to complete it but didn't want the person she wrote it for to be left hanging...

And that's about it.

-I've known her for a while and this so like her to not want to let anyone down, even if it is for a fic exchange.

p.s after you read this post, can you delete it, so it doesn't get into a big deal. Thanks.

Oh wow... that's terrible. :( I really hope that she's ok. Don't even worry about the fic at all, I'm sure the person will understand completely.

Let her know what we all hope that she gets better soon, and to not even worry about this!!
