mirotic_mor Tiptoeing in the hallway, he moved closer to the door, almost putting his little ear on it, eavesdropping a phone conversation. The little boy was surprised at his sister’s behaviour: she seemed really happy, giggling. He never heard her talking like that. Curiosity got the best of him; why was she so happy? He pushed the door carefully so he could glance at her and saw that she was smiling.
“I love you too, bye,” she replied to the other person, all giddy.
‘Who does noona love more than us?’ the little black-haired boy wondered, thinking of their family. As soon as her sister ended the phone call, he suddenly appeared in the room, his mind full of questions.
“Noona, noona! Who was that?” he asked, as he couldn’t wait anymore.
“Oh my, you’re so curious Jaejoongie.”
She smiled at him, ruffling his hair with affection. She loved her little brother very much but she wasn’t going to give in. Her information was top secret! Though, when Jaejoong pouted, they both knew she couldn’t resist. Despite his young age, he already knew how to get what he wanted.
“Fine. It’s my boyfriend.”
“And you love him?” he whispered as if it was a secret.
“And I love him.”
“And you don’t love us anymore?” little Jaejoong pouted, but unconsciously this time. His eyes were already teary.
He was scared, what if she didn’t love them anymore? What if she left the house? A second later, he was pulled in a tight hug, showered with kisses. She told him she had enough space in her heart for everyone, explaining everything in a way that a four-year-old child would be able to understand.
“How do you know you love someone else other than mommy?”
The teenager girl chuckled at his little brother’s cuteness and took his hand.
“When someone takes your hand and you feel tiny butterflies in your belly~,” she smiled, ticking him.
“For real?” little Jaejoong giggled at the sensation.
Since this day, his sister’s words replayed in his mind. Jaejoong thought having butterflies in the belly would feel really weird, but his sister seemed so happy about it that it made the little boy even more curious. For a week, the Jaejoong had been too distracted because of that. He needed to come up with a plan.
---
Wandering in the playground, little Jaejoong headed towards one of his friends. The latter was playing marbles all by himself on the floor. He was making his clothes dirty, but he didn’t care, it was fun!
“Su!”
The said Su turned his head, his face breaking in a smile when he saw Jaejoong coming towards him. They waved at each other, smiling. When Jaejoong finally approached him, he handed Junsu his hand. Little Junsu was confused, why would he have to take Joongie’s hand? Shrugging for a second, he sent his buddy another smile and gave him a high-five.
They both giggled even if little Jaejoong was frowning inside; his mission seemed like it would take longer than expected. Trying to not thinking about it too much, he stayed with Junsu until playtime was over, his mind already planning the next step.
---
The teacher had asked them to draw out what they wanted to be when they would grew up. All the kids in the pre-school class were happy about it -except Jaejoong. The whole thing started to bother him, he didn’t even want to draw. He kept sighing, forcing himself to draw a little fireman while making a face. His neighbour -Changmin- was giving him annoying glares even tsking at him; he needed concentration and Jaejoong was not cooperating.
Feeling uneasy under those stares and sensing the bad aura coming from his three-year-old friend, the little black-haired boy dropped his pen on the table and looked into space. But then, he remembered it was now or never for his mission! Waiting silently for his buddy to finish his drawing, Jaejoong gave him his hand. Little Changmin didn’t miss the opportunity to hit it hard as he could in vengeance, a smirk painting his little face.
And it wasn’t butterflies that Jaejoong felt at that moment.
---
In the afternoon, while the youngest children got to take a nap, the other could play in the playground. Little Jaejoong was still traumatized by his interaction with Changmin that he ran to one of his other friends, in case beasty-min would chase after him.
“Mi-Minnie hit my hand,” he complained as he showed his little red palm to little Yoochun.
The latter gasped and stroked his friend’s back to comfort him. That was very rude of Changmin.
“Chunnie will spank him!”
Jaejoong’s face lit up a bit as he smiled at his buddy and handed him his hand. Well, not the injured one. It was Yoochun’s turn to smile and he took his little hand in his. Though the other boy didn’t feel butterflies, he was just happy to receive comfort from his friend. Chunnie was always nice to him, and Jaejoong liked his friend very much, but when he held his hand he felt… nothing. Weird. He thanked his Chunnie with a little peck on the cheek and then it was already time to go back to the classroom.
---
For the last activity, the children were asked to sit on the floor, repeating some songs for the carnival. They chatted and sang together. When Yunho sat net to Jaejoong, the latter smiled brightly at him. He hadn’t even seen his Yunnie once today! He was too busy with his mission that he almost forgot about his best buddy.
Taking a little break, the children played a bit. Some of the children were chatting with each other while little Jaejoong was sighing, staring into space. He really wanted to accomplish his mission today… He was in such deep thoughts that he was surprised when he realized a few seconds later that a little hand had taken his. He looked up to up see little Yunho smiling as if he knew he had to comfort him.
The black-haired boy didn’t even feel himself blushing but when his best friend entwined their fingers, he immediately understood his sister’s words. There were butterflies in his belly! He giggled inside and couldn’t help but smile, glancing at his Yunnie before whispering in his ear.
“I love you Yunnie,” he smiled, his cheeks turning pink when he kissed his buddy’s cheek.
Little Yunho blushed too, unable to utter a word. He was too happy.
Jaejoong maybe didn’t need to accomplish the mission; it seemed like his heart had already chosen Yunho.
