Wearing a black beanie, a big black scarf and a pair of sunglasses, he was running in the street, hoping no one could recognize him or even attempt to follow him. He sped up for a few minutes, turning to an avenue on his right which he remembered from a taxi driver’s instructions. When he saw several people in front of some building, he knew he had finally arrived. His heartbeat sped up and, he was afraid of the possibility that he’d get caught, but he knew he had to go inside - otherwise it would be too late.
He approached and old lady and asked her in rusty Chinese if there was another doorway, making an excuse that he was kind of scared of the young teenagers who were camping next to the main hotel’s entrance. Bowing to her as a thank you, he went through a narrow alley until he happened to see another door. Without wasting a single minute, he looked around him and made sure he was alone before he went inside and headed upstairs to the fourth floor. Glancing at his cell phone, he read a message to remind himself about which door he was supposed to knock on.
He felt like his heart was about to pop right out of his chest when he finally rapped his fingers against the door. He breathed in deeply and closed his eyes, unable to hear anything other than the loud thump thump of his beating heart.
“Jaejoong-ah?”
When the familiar voice rang at his ears, he slowly lifted his head and opened his eyes. He had so many things to say, yet the man in front of him had completely hypnotized him to the point that the latter had to call his name a second time to catch his attention, concern evident in his voice.
“I… I wasn’t sure if y-you would still be here,” Jaejoong managed to murmur. “I thought I was too late… I-”
He didn’t even get to finish his sentence before the other man pulled him closer and squeezed, an arm around his waist, hugging him as tightly as ever. Jaejoong buried his face in the taller man’s neck, letting out a sigh when he felt his boyfriend stroking his hair softly. They stayed in that position for a minute or two, almost forgetting that anyone could see them in the hallway.
“I missed you,” Yunho eventually whispered, his words interrupting his lover’s thoughts.
He didn’t need to prove him how much he had missed the other, his embrace spoke volumes. Jaejoong offered him a smile before wrapping his arms around Yunho’s neck, closing the gap between their faces by kissing his lips. Tender kisses became frantic in a matter of seconds, and the couple stopped to catch their breaths before they inched closer to one another, their foreheads pressed together.
“Wo ai nu,” Yunho said, his voice hesitant.
“It’s ‘wo ai ni’, you dork,” Jaejoong chuckled, hiding his mouth behind his hand.
“Well I wo ai ni you, no need to laugh at me.”
Jaejoong tried to stop his giggles in front of his pouty boyfriend and stroked Yunho’s cheek in a comforting manner before he leaned in to kiss his lover’s lips.
“I wo ai ni you as well, Yunho-ah.”
