A/N: Omg I'm so late for Soojung's bday >.<

It had been more than a week since Soojung started receiving notes in her locker. To be honest, she wasn’t surprised. It wasn’t the first time she’d gotten letters, be it love messages, harsh words or random notes. But this time it looked like the notes she got during the week were from the same person and somehow it intrigued her. The writing was neat and the sender always used the same paper. She couldn’t even guess if this new admirer was a boy or a girl.

Every day, Soojung would get another love note from this person until she found herself waiting for them, getting curious about what she would get as days passed by. Judging from those little notes, that admirer seemed pretty infatuated with her and she knew that deep inside she wanted to meet or at least know who this person was.

“You got yourself a stalker, it’s pretty creepy,” her friend told her as they reached their lockers. “Look, another note. What does it say?”

Soojung put her stuff inside her locker and opened the note. Her friend might be right, but she loved this kind of attention.

“‘I wish dreams were like wishes, and wishes came true, ‘cause in my dreams I'm always with you.’” she read. “What? It’s sweet.”

“It’s sweet if you know the person, but you don’t! It’s creepy, seriously. Do you know how stalkers are? Thousands of pictures of you in a room, secretly watching you from afar, knowing every little thing you do, yada! Yada! Yada!”

“Unnie! You’re giving me the chills!” Soojung shivered at the thought and slammed her locker shot. “You’re right, it’s… not that sweet. What should I do?”

“We need to stop this. I think that person leaves those messages in the morning. We can come here earlier tomorrow. What do you think? It’s up to you.”

Entering the classroom, the two girls lowered their voices and took their seats. Once the teacher appeared, Soojung gave her friend one last glance and whispered an ‘Okay, tomorrow it is.’

On her way back home, Soojung realized that it wasn’t that creepy. At least she didn’t get the ‘I know where you live’ kind of notes, since that person (a boy she guessed, judging from the writing) was only confessing, as if he didn’t want to push her. It looked like he knew it would always be a one-sided love. ‘Damn you unnie, you made me scared for nothing.’

At 7:30am, Soojung went to pick her friend up before hurrying to their high school. Of course there were a few people in the building but they were alone in the hallway. After opening her locker, the two girls were surprised to see another note. ‘I hope your day is as radiant as your smile.’

“Definitely not the morning. Let’s stay until the end of classes.”

Soojung let out a sigh with a nod and put the note with the old ones in her locker. Because of her friend who kept on reminding her about their ‘mission’, she wasn’t able to think of anything else. Besides, she was making such a huge deal about it, when in reality… it wasn’t.

A few hours later, they decided to stay in the cafeteria and chat for the last two hours until they would have to leave their high school. When the two teenagers went to their lockers, they were both surprised to see another note.

“That guy is clearly spying on you. He waits until you leave after your classes to leave his freaking paper so that tomorrow you’ll see it.” Soojung’s friend was fuming with anger.

Ignoring the other girl’s comments, Soojung read the note and found herself smiling. ‘Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet but nothing compared to you. Happy birthday Soojung.’ She probably shouldn’t have read it since her birthday was the next day, but it made her so happy.

“Stop smiling like an idiot,” her friend nudged her. “Don’t tell me it’s sweet of him, okay? How does he even know your birthday? You should think about it.”

“But the attention is so nice.”

“You’ve always been a sucker for things like this anyways. I’m giving up, I don’t want to keep on running after him, it’s getting annoying. I’m going home, see you tomorrow.”

And just like that, Soojung was left alone in the hallway. She closed her locker and left the building after a few minutes. ‘Maybe I should give up as well. Too bad I didn’t get to meet him, just wanted to thank him for the birthday wishes,’ she thought.

It didn’t look like her birthday was her lucky day since she woke up an hour later than usual (thank God her friend called her just in time). Soojung rushed out of her house in a matter of minutes after grabbing a few cookies. But then she realized that she missed her bus and the traffic was bad that she might not make it in time for her first class.

As she finally arrived at school, she didn’t even bother to stop and chat with the people who greeted her for her birthday and hurried instead to class. Though when she was running in the hallway, she noticed a teenager who was nervously standing in front of one of the lockers. He looked like he was about to… maybe leave some papers in one of them? By instinct, she called him before he could leave.

“Hey, excuse me. What were you doing in front of,” she turned to notice it was her locker, “my locker?”

The boy, caught in the act, suddenly stared at his feet, hands behind his back. Soojung was sure he was related to the notes and her admirer.

“I… I was about to… My friend told me to… leave this paper here. I… don’t know what it is though,” he managed to say, showing her the paper in his hands.

“Really? Then, since you’re here, can you read it?”

“No no, I can’t! It’s too personal.” the boy lifted his head to meet her gaze only to see her smiling at him.

“How are you supposed to know it’s personal if you don’t know what it’s about, hm?” Soojung crossed her arms on her chest. ‘Victory!’ she couldn’t help thinking.

“I just- well I figured since… since it’s your birthday-”

“Gotcha!” she teased him and snatched the paper from his hands. “So you’re the owner of all those notes… What’s your name?”

“Myungsoo.”

“Well, thank you Myungsoo for the birthday wishes, it’s very sweet of you,” she smiled at him before slightly bowing but when he was about to leave, she grabbed his wrist. “Wait, where are you going?”

“Away? I obviously can’t stay here.”

“Why not?”

“Because it’ll be so embarrassing if you read it when I’m still in front of-”

Myungsoo stopped talking when she kissed his cheek. Even though he felt like the luckiest man alive, a bow would have been enough. Moments like these would only raise his expectations when he was fine in this one-sided love.

“What, what, why?” he stammered, feeling his heart about to pop out of his chest when Soojung didn’t hesitate to take his hand in hers.

“Let’s get to know each other around a cup of coffee?”

Still surprised and confused about the whole change of situation, the boy didn’t miss the chance to entwine their fingers together. He couldn’t believe that his crush, the girl of his dreams, accepted him so easily. Though wasn’t she supposed to be in class? Not that he knew her schedule, really, but he never saw her around that time.

“Relax, it’s my birthday!”

“Is it a reason enough to ditch class?” Myungsoo asked her as he let himself be dragged to the cafeteria.

Soojung rolled her eyes, murmuring an ‘of course it is’. Hadn’t he ever ditch class before?
The moment she let her guard down, she was being pulled against his chest, as if he was about to hug her. But he didn’t. Instead, he brought his mouth next to her ear.

“By the way, happy birthday, Soojung-ah.”

Feeling her ears and cheeks go on fire, Soojung leaned against him, unconsciously wrapping an arm around her boyfriend’s waist. She smiled shyly at the thought-

Yeah, her boyfriend.
