Sorry about listing everything, but I need to post it somewhere I can find it so I won't lose it.

This thing is evil to start out with favorite song. I can never pick a favorite anything, but with music I just... I like a lot of things. Like at the moment I'm on an Animal Collective kick again, since they just put out a five-song EP that is glorious and beautiful. I think my overall favorite band is Radiohead, so you'd think I could pick one of their songs and just call it my favorite and feel okay about it. But I can't even pick my favorite Radiohead song. I fail.

So what I do is I pick the first Radiohead song I really loved. When I love songs I tend to freak out and listen to them over and over again for days and look up all the live versions I can find on youtube and learn all the lyrics by heart and learn all kinds of useless trivia about it. So prepare yourself.

Radiohead- Fake Plastic Trees

I can't embed the music video so this is an early live version, featuring blond!Thom. I sort of like his blond hair. Whatever. His voice was amazing when he was younger. It's still amazing but it hasn't really held up as well. I want to travel back in time and attend early Radiohead concerts. Unfortunately this one took place when I was two. Dammit.

Fake Plastic Trees is... I don't know. It's beautiful. I suck at describing music. But I do know that the vocal track was recorded in two takes after the band saw a Jeff Buckley concert, which is a really fantastic little bit of information to me because I adore Jeff Buckley as well. Thom is kind of channeling him here. I like it.

I don't know what to say about music ughhhhhh. But... I love this. And yes, I'm a crazy Radiohead stan. But I also stan AI and I have a GaGa icon defaulted at the moment, so I like to think that I'm not a totally crazy stuck up pretentious Radiohead stan. &hearts

Now, off to figure out how to do an LJ cut since I can never remember.

i live for music, meme, 30 days, procrastination
