writing as art

will writing always be regarded as art? or, being the society we are, trying to move further and further away from anything that someone has done before, will we result to seeing dots and spatters on canvas for all our mental stimulation ( Read more... )

ooh yes. Take Tolkien for example. He wrote some of the most boring rubbish (Hobbit discluded), But the energy it took. He went all mathematical just to get the perfect placement of the moon, so It's always in the right place. Silly Bugger.
But detail doesn't make an extraordinary book, I think the Clan of the Otori series By Lian Hearn are some of the most beautiful books ever written. But then again I am a sap...

however i know you own a copy so i shall commandeer it off you good and proper before i go iluka!

technology assists in my creativity however ... do you know how hard it would be to do 3d rendering with out :|
