Awesome! Like seriously, seriously awesome. I am in awe over your character voices, they are all so very spot-on, especially Jack and Vala. And Cam. And everyone :)

And Furlings = Ents is such a hilarious image. Bet they're cursing never trying to talk to the trees ;)

Thanks- so glad you like the voices! I love all the characters to bits, but Jack is especially fun to write.

Made myself laugh (I am easily amused), picturing Daniel squinting suspiciously at random alien trees and trying to make conversation.

What a fantastic concept!

It all makes sense now. All those trees.

I LOVE IT.

And this is an absolutely delightful fic. I second what ryf said about the character voices, and the Ents, and I love the straight-up mention of the Ewoks, and the other allusions too (forest moon!) -- so much fun and meta in this, and so much of it believably from the mouths of the characters themselves, which makes me love it even more.

Yay!

Thank you! The meta was really fun on so many levels, maybe especially for Teal'c's sake.

LOL! Poor Jack, trying to wrap his head around this one. It's not like he's never seen a talking tree, before. Not with the number of times he must've watched The Wizard of Oz! :-D

Great character voices all the way through.

Loved this bit regarding the whole new level of weirdness: They all paused to contemplate this. Then there was a general round of nods and variously audible noises of agreement.

Jack was miffed that he missed seeing the talking tree in the er, flesh :-) I wish we could have seen him in the little Wizard of Oz pastiche in 200.

Really happy the voices sounded believable! Humour is always so iffy...

Nice to hear it inspired hilarity- bad grammar notwithstanding :-)

Question: is it still bad grammar if no one sees it before it's edited?

I'd vote 'nay' :-)

Thank you very much! When the idea first popped into what passes for my brain, my first reaction was pretty much "Oh, god - Ents!" too. So of course, I had to write it.

Hee! I ran across this via a rec from grav_ity, and I'm so glad I did. This is hilarious. And oh so SG-1-ish. (I love it when I can actually HEAR the characters' voices in my head while reading something like this.)

I'll be giving all the trees in my neighborhood a more curious eye from now on, you can bet. ; )

You could hear them? What a lovely compliment!

I read a lot more fic than I write, and always love the kind of story where I can hear the dialogue in my head.

When I first read 'The Two Towers', at age eleven, I desperately wanted Ents to be real. Never really got over that :-)
