Okay, it took me forever to comment (I confess because of rs_games, but I simple have to state publicly how much I adore this story. And, considering it's about Snape, that's quite a surprise for me. LOL.

Siriusly, I don't hate Snape, but he never felt very real and alive in canon to me and you've really changed that. You gave him life and depth and, well, emotions. I admit to liking him in the movies, but mostly because I love Alan Rickman's sarcasm. However, Severus always struck me as someone who in real life I might pity and try my best to like and understand, but who would, in the end, offend me and piss me off ( ... )

Brighty, thanks SO much for this. You've been nothing but great throughout my time in this Bang, and your thoughtful and thorough feedback during the betaing of this first installment was a huge help and encouragement to me. Your offer to beta a fic so long and involved would've been above and beyond the call of mod duty even had it been centered on Sirius ;), so I'm doubly glad to hear that the Snape focus didn't kill it for you ( ... )

Omg, this is so awesome. I'm very eager to see what happens next. So intense!!! I forgot for a bit what part was flashback and where it had started (aka, after Hogwarts, as opposed to the parts in the summer after 5th year and the summer after 6th) I also like how a lot of this parallels things that Harry has gone through (cooking for and cleaning up after the family, treatment at the trial, separation from friends). Makes you think.

I'm excited to read more, as it comes out. :-)

Acanismajoris, thanks so much! I’m so pleased you enjoyed it. And you’ve raised an issue that I myself have been concerned about (the potentially confusing chronology of the flashbacks). I’m glad it was at least clear to you that not all past events were taking place during the same summer - I’d feared it would all be one undistinguished mass of “Huh? When did this happen again ( ... )

What a lovely thing to say - huge thanks! I think this fic may take longer than some to find an audience simply because of its length - to expect people to just drop what they're doing to read 40-odd thousand words (and that's just this first piece of it!) is asking quite a lot. I confess I was a little freaked out to get no comments at all for the first week, but now that I know SOMEONE has read and liked it, I'm quite pleased with the idea that people will gradually discover it, then feel free to read and comment at their leisure.

My goal is to get chapter 5 posted by the end of the weekend. Hope you'll like it!

Finally getting to read this story -- and what a treat it is! I was honestly breathless at times. I'll leave a more detailed comment soon, but I just wanted to say now what a fine piece of writing this is.

*claps hands with glee* I am thrilled to hear you're enjoying it! Being that you're a)my LJ friend, b)a known Snape partisan and c) an established writer of high-quality fic yourself, your opinion is important to me on at least three levels.

Thanks so much for taking the time to wade through my ocean of prose and leave such encouraging feedback! *runs back to finish revising Chapter 6 with motivation considerably increased*

Read title. I'm in a hurry, so I don't have time to review it -although I pretty much give it a ten.
So, where, and when can I read the next one? I enjoyed this every thoroughly, I am definitely gonna keep a tab on this.
All the best, be warded from writer's block,
IBS

Thanks for the lovely feedback, and thanks for taking the time to read this monster!

All the subsequent chapters will appear as new posts here at the Marauder Big Bang site as I get them ready:

http://community.livejournal.com/marauderbigbang/

If you friend the Bang (or start watching it), you'll get notice of new chapter posts in your friends list. Chapter 5 is already up - here's a direct link:

In a perfect world, I'd have a new chapter posted weekly, but my crazy RL (work, school, etc.) is likely to make that impossible. I'm hoping to have Chapter 6 posted this weekend, maybe, possibly, if all goes well.

If you stay with it, I do hope you'll enjoy it! ;)
