'Dream' rehersal

Jan 04, 2004 23:15

Well, for a first rehersal, I think things went rather well. Of course, I use the word 'rehersal' in the loosest of terms.

As far as I can tell, Minda's Oberon and Sirius's Puck shall be one of the best things about this production; the way I've always read Dream, Puck takes his greatest delight from taunting everyone, up to and including Oberon, ( Read more... )

When are the Easter hols this year, do you know? I know when Easter is--March 26. Two days after the first full moon of spring, which Cedd assures me is a time of powerful benevolent magic and good fortune. Hope he's right; I'll probably be frantically researching for term papers and cramming for O.W.L.s around then. And praying that I don't get a T in astronomy. I've never managed to see any stars through any telescopes yet. Why can't the wizarding world invent a spell to cure nearsightedness?

Still, it's not as if the school calendar always matches the regular calendar. Cedd and I have a bet going. I say that they'll be held around the end of March. He's betting on mid-April. Just to be contrary, I think.

as much as I trust my friends, there are some things even they cannot resist, and enchanted donkey heads are most likely one of them.Considering that I was sorely tempted to use it on Josh, I can understand that. However, I'd like to express my own wish that they not do anything to the head, or any other portion of my costume ( ... )

I could try to help you with your Astronomy, if you'd like, Hugh. I'm pretty good at it, since my mom used to take the three of us outside and point the stars out to us. It sort of sticks in your mind, and if you know the general direction of where you're supposed to be looking I suppose you at least won't do too horribly.

Myself, I don't think I'm going to do to well in Herbology. Plants don't like me. And Defense, if it's anything to do with Boggarts, because after what's just happened I know what it would be and I'm scared of it. And Defense isn't my strong point anyway (not to mention we don't exactly have the best teacher).

I thought that both of them were smashing. They'll steal the stage every time one or both of them is on.

Inflate our heads, why don't you? I'm glad you thought I did well.

Thanks, Minda. I'd love some help in Astronomy. If I can scrape by with an Acceptable, I'll be delighted.

I wish that I could help you in Herbology. Unfortunately, I'm both good and bad at it--it depends on the plant. If you need help in Divination or History of Magic, though, I'm definitely up for that.

Oh, and Cedd says that if anyone from fifth to seventh year wants to join his study group for Potions, he, she or it is welcome to do so.

Well, no, we don't have the best teacher in class. I think that's balanced out by having Remus as a teacher outside of class, though. Pity students aren't allowed to teach actual classes.

Cedd's holding a potions study group? Your brother is a godsend, Hugh.

And Minda, you can certainly come to the Defense study group any time you like. We did a bit on Boggarts in October, but of course not everyone managed very well, so if anyone's up for it I may ask Dumbledore if there is one lurking about the castle right now; I'll tell you if we get it or are going to practice with it. And you're always welcome at any study session.
